Mom of Theodore Roosevelt sailor ‘devastated’ by firing of Crozier

The concerned mother broke down in tears as she talked about her son, a petty officer second class sailor aboard the carrier Theodore Roosevelt.

“We talked yesterday,” the Pinellas County, Florida, resident said in a phone interview with Navy Times. “He was still fine and really excited that he was going to be quarantined and get in a hotel room and away from each other.”

Out of fear of retribution, the mother asked that neither she nor her son be named.

A few days earlier her son mentioned that there were 250 sailors in a berthing area about the size of her 1,600-square-foot home, she told Navy Times.

Veterans Denounce 'Unforgivable' Decision to Remove U.S. Navy Captain Brett Crozier, Who Asked for Help With Ship's COVID-19 Outbreak
By Ewan Palmer On 4/3/20 at 5:59 AM EDT

Veterans have spoken out against the decision to relieve the captain of the U.S.S. Theodore Roosevelt after he sent a letter to the Navy pleading for help after his ship was stricken with the coronavirus.

Thomas Modly, the acting secretary of the Navy, accused Capt. Brett Crozier of having "poor judgment" for using a "non-secure, unclassified" email address to write an email to his immediate chain of command which also included "20 or 30" additional recipients.

Crozier's letter, which was then leaked and published by the San Francisco Chronicle, asked officials for help in isolating more than 4,000 sailors onboard the aircraft carrier docked in Guam, after a COVID-19 outbreak was detected among its crew. A day after the letter was published, around 1,000 sailors were removed from the Theodore Roosevelt. A total of 114 crew have since tested positive for COVID-19.

There’s another side to the story of the fired Navy Captain

I have a feeling this weeks Bonehead dealings with 3M and the USN are going to be used in PR workshops in the future.
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

S'ecy Modly's summary of Crozier's behavior reminds of old and
faded traits/values now largely replaced by feelgood humanitarianism.
Listen as our effeminate media rant/rave about the noble Crozier!

I am a veteran, and in my military mind, an officer is out of line for going public and polical.

I held a Security Clearance and handled classified material. It was very serious.

It is simply not up to each member of the military to violate chains of comand, security procedures, etc.

Not to mention disclusure of sensitive national security details, for enemies to see.
