I really like DeSantis, but I know for a fact that people are spending several days if not more in just trying to file.  The system is broken -- training people and implementing a better computer system now is way too late.  People needed $$ a week ago!  On this DeSantis has FAILED.  If he wasn't aware of the problem, he certainly is now.

New evidence shows Governor DeSantis was warned about state's unemployment website issues

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA - New evidence shows Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was warned about the state’s unemployment website issues after numerous problems were pointed out in a 2019 audit.

The state has struggled for weeks to keep up with the mounting unemployment claims being filed as a result of COVID-19 layoffs.

NBC2 has heard from many people who are unable to file a claim through the website.

Career Source of Southwest Florida is working to help the state’s re-employment office get signed up for unemployment.

The state is scurrying to update its server, hire more workers and open another call center to meet the continued demand for unemployment claims.

While the state has not answered any of our questions, Career Source confirmed they are in talks with the state to assist with the problems and get people signed up for unemployment.

Two things Career Source said are contributing to the website issues are the overwhelming number of visits accompanied by many people who have filed for unemployment previously and can’t remember their lifetime four-digit PIN number.

People are also experiencing a backlog on the state’s phone line.................

I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.
