Democrats are apoplectic. The coronavirus has delivered the economic downturn they hoped would derail President Trump, but the collapse in jobs and stock market swoon are failing to produce the desired result. Far from being demolished politically by the crisis, President Trump has risen to the occasion and looks stronger, not weaker, as the weeks go by.

Instead, COVID-19 is destroying honest journalism. The liberal media’s coverage of the president’s response to the crisis has become even nastier than normal, and, also, misleading. Some now refuse to even cover Trump’s daily briefings on the virus. They are unhinged.

A Gallup poll released in recent days put the media at the bottom of all institutions’ response to the coronavirus; only 44 percent of respondents approved of their coverage, as opposed to 88 percent who thought our hospitals are doing a good job, and 60 percent who thought Trump was handling the crisis well. Don’t think for a moment that such negative reading will alter the #Never-Trump jihad.

Face it,if they lose the presidency and control of congress in 2020,it's over for the Dim Party.

I just hope we have wised up since the days when we torpedoed the Newt Gingrich Revolution by allowing Dims in danger of losing office to switch their registrations to Republican,and then gave him important committee seats to reward them for allegedly "abandoning their life long political convictions in favor of staying in office."

It's patently obvious that many of the WH press corps have no intention of asking Trump serious questions. A great many of their questions are "gotcha" type questions intended to get Trump to admit a lie or some huge error in his statements.
Many reporters view themselves as some sort of heroes as they (in their own minds) "speak truth to power."
The actual truth is many of them act like little kids and are totally unprofessional. Like the reporterette who had a fit when Trump called the virus the Chinese Virus. Because it came from China.

Maybe you saw that video of the female reporter who was physically agitated when Trump kept calling it (correctly) the Chinese Virus.
A real professional would have remained calm and asked in a normal tone "Mr. President, some people say calling it the Chinese Virus instead of Covid19 is racist...how do you respond to that?"
Instead this idiot looked like she had bugs crawling down her back as her face contorted in fury that Trump wasn't calling it the name the lib reporters demanded people call it.
She actually looked like a little kid who was denied a cookie and threw a tantrum.

Fairly predictable, really.  The COVID-19 business was the equivalent of pulling a Chance Card in Monopoly.  Could doom the President, or redound to his benefit, depending on his actions.  I think he's doing OK, on balance.  The Rats are not covering themselves in glory when they send people out like Pelosi, insisting Trump's fiddling while Rome burns.  They have a weak hand, and they are playing it poorly.

That "10 percent of good journalists" figure is a pipe dream. I doubt the true figure today is even 2 percent because if you are not a lefties with the "right" leftist connections you are not even going to get an interview with a major newspaper or Network News show.

Even then you would have to be a closeted  homosexual,communist,sexual freak, or something similar so they could hold exposure over your head to keep you in line.

Yeah.... and I know someone that had everything handed to her while growing up, including funding for 10 years of college to get a 4 year degree, majoring in English (wtf?).   And this is someone that never intended to become a teachor OR get any kind of job other than temporary or part time, just for S&Gs.   Imagine how all that $$$ could have helped out someone that actually intended to have a career and to actually work (insert graphic of traumatized Maynard G. Krebs here).

English can be a tough Major, as J-School used to be.  A Journalism Major used to include a heavy dose of History and Poli-Sci,  in addition to English.

I remember a geography class I took in college many decades ago. There were two students (male and female) who were constantly talking to each other during class necessitating the prof to tell them to shut up while he was giving his lecture. He was a nice guy, and he politely asked them to be quiet.
After class one time I asked both of them what their majors were. They both said.....education.
I immediately thought about the kids they would be teaching in the future and felt sorry for them...the kids who would have them for teachers, that is.

That was my experience, too.  I also had Profs who would actually grade you lower for listening to their lectures because they tested to the book, not the lecture.  Some things she said were contrary to the material in the book, and the testing reflected that.  I learned to ignore her lectures and spend the class time reading the book instead, it raised my score from "C" to "A."  The department?  "General Humanities."  I had to take some of those classes as electives.  Engineering students had to take classes in Shakespeare back then.

Only .... in my friend's case.... it was a four-year degree that took ten years of daddy-cash-cow's $$$...lol.
