I am not forgetting.

But such is the nature of the Trump Wars.
No matter what is said, or how much thought is put into it, people tend to cubby-hole others into "camps" that can be bundled together, so the sins of the extreme can be laid at anybody's doorstep.  To somebody who "loves" the President, any criticism is the result of "never-Trumpism."    To somebody who "hates" him, any praise of the President is seen as being a mindless cheerleader.

And I, like you, am in the vast region where Trump is neither "loved" nor "hated."  He's just a politician.

But now he is our leader in time of an extreme health crisis....... and that transcends "just a politician."........... or it should.
Character still matters.  It always matters.

I wear a mask as an exercise in liberty and love for others.  To see it as an infringement of liberty is to entirely miss the point.  Be kind.

It should, but does it?  Did Pelosi transcend politics yesterday when she said Trump is fiddling while the country burns?  Did Congressman Clyburn, when he declared the Corona virus is a golden opportunity to cram socialism down our throats?

(Sorry, I'm full of questions this morning.  I blame the lack of caffeine.)

Old argument meeting brick wall......

Just because THEY don’t know how decent people behave doesn’t mean WE have to behave badly.

We cannot remove the standard of character just because they have.

Leadership......... raise the standards, don’t sink to the lowest common denominator.

Done here...... talk amongst yourself.  happy77

I'm surprised you answered my post.  The Trump Lovers are talking amongst themselves already.

But would that be observable?  Would an anti-Trump person ever admit he's behaving in an "adult manner?"  Would that goalpost never move for partisan purposes?

I see a President with access to the best information, and the best advice, recognizing that he can't fix this by himself.  I think he thinks he actually needs the support of experts, Congress, Governors, the media, and people who did not vote for him.  I see him praise these people and ask for their further support daily.  I have TDS, but I'm also a huge coward that doesn't want to die yet ( and of course I worry about family and friends...like you, but mostly me ) so when the daily increase in deaths begins to fall, I might spend more time grading the President on his performance solving this crisis, but until then I see much stronger President than ever before.  I support his 15 day guideline, his assertion that our top priority is saving lives, his mostly consistent message of We Are All In This Together, and even this huge stimulus package.

The President has said on many occasions and in many ways that we want to solve this with "the fewest lives lost," because "we have the best people" and we will need them when this crisis is over and we want to recover the fastest.  Unfortunately, mean ol' Dr Fauci says "the virus will decide the timeline."  I know our President wants a healthy and wealthy country to be his legacy.  I don't know if he is fit for the task, but we can't change quarterbacks today, and the good news is, as our President has reminded us in every press conference he recognizes "We have the best people."  As often as I complain about his speeches, conferences, and tweets I actually think President Trump has displayed more leadership in the last 2 weeks than his first 3 years.  He has had good days and great days since he declared a National Emergency.  His message has been remarkably consistent "follow my guideline for 15 days."  In a few days we will have an updated guideline and it will most assuredly address medical, and fiscal issues.

Probably not observable by anti-Once-Lers, but there is some praise in these two recent posts.  Much more going back to the announcement of a National Emergency.

I, for one, welcome the praise for the President on this subject.  I was not thinking of you when I penned the post you quoted.  I was thinking of the partisan Rats, many of whom populate the field of "journalism."

There are some out there @Cyber Liberty , however President Trump has also pointed out, in most of his conferences, that the media coverage has been good in general.  At least I am hearing him say it.

After 3 years of training, let-downs, and failures confirmed and reconfirmed in my mind by President Trump it is hard to not have that color my first impressions of new facts.  I suspect the same is true for the media about President Trump, and President Trump about the media.

While any time wasted fighting among ourselves is counter-productive it does appear to me that everyone is more understanding of the grudges we hold as humans today.  Last night the President said ...

There’s great spirit.  I’ll tell you what — yeah, I’d love to have them do it.  Let them waive those co-pays.  There’s a great spirit in this country right now.

I mean, I know insurance companies better than anybody.  They just don’t do that.  But now there’s a spirit like I have not seen.  I have never seen anything like it.

I mean, even the media is much more fair.  I wouldn’t say all of it, but that’s okay.  They should be fair because they should want this to end.  This is — this is about death.

And there are also partisans in the press, as witnessed by the daily updates.  This story seems to be outing them.
