While "polls" are often individually invalid or pushed...and are subject to non-significant statistical variability...aggregations like that done at RCP, and to an extent at 538 (though they try to manipulate results by weighting the polls they deem most reliable)...are showing the President's approval ratings rising in a significant way. This is meaningful as a trend and a hopeful sign as we move deeper into the election cycle.

Today, the average hit 47%...the President's highest aggregate ever. This, despite Rasmussen having bounced to 46% within its general range of 46-51. As its likely we'll see the Rassy ping gradually back towards 50% over the next few days, the President's rating should continue to tweak upwards overall.

This is clearly a response to his effective handling of the Covid19 crisis, IMHO...but I'd sound a note of caution that should the crisis take a bad turn, either in economic or in terms of massive spread beyond what is expected, these ratings could certainly tank in the other direction. For now, mostly good news in terms of public perception of the President's actions.
