How Did Dems Put a 1,000-Page COVID Bill Together in 1 Weekend? They Didn't - We've Been Set Up

Back in my school days, I wasn’t so much a procrastinator as a procrastination artist.

I remember cramming together some pretty dodgy papers over a long weekend back in college. Armed with little more than coffee, my iMac and some textbooks, I could churn out about 20-ish pages of half-readable pap between Friday evening and the Sunday midnight deadline.

Not that it was any good. In one case, stuck for a hook, I compared two philosophers to professional wrestlers and went from there. I think the philosophers were Nietzsche and Kierkegaard; I can’t remember the wrestlers. The paper inexplicably got an A-, presumably more because of entertainment value than academic merit.

I think there is real optimism that we could get something done in the next few hours,” (Pelosi) said in an interview with CNBC.

“If it has poison pills in it — and they know certain things are poison pills — then they don’t want unanimous consent, they just want an ideological statement.”

This exceeds mere chutspah.

Thanks, news media, for creating this utter monstrosity of a politician.

By Pamela Geller - on March 24, 2020
Democrats: Party of Treason

If the GOP held up a relief bill, the Democrat media complex would be hanging us high in Times Square. Thee should be NOTHING in the Coronavirus relief bll that is not corona related.

– $300M for foreign refugees
– $800M for Endowment for the Humanities and Arts
– $100M for NASA
– $25M for cleaning supplies for the Capital Building.
– $25M for additional House of Reps salary.
–A nationwide mandate for ballot harvesting
–An automatic visa extension for all foreign workers
–An expansion of foreign-language ballots
–Same-day voter registration for the 2020 presidential election
–An amnesty for nearly 800,000 DACA illegal aliens

What’s in Democrats’ coronavirus bill? Arts funding, union help and more

Toward the end of the weekend Schumer just started adding stuff like IKEA furniture instructions, and dirty limericks to the bill.

They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. I'd be fine with that.  At least it doesn't add to our national insolvency problem.

Character still matters.  It always matters.

I wear a mask as an exercise in liberty and love for others.  To see it as an infringement of liberty is to entirely miss the point.  Be kind.

Ha!  I make a motion that this be added to the official record by unanimous consent.

We may not be done.

Cuomo says $2 trillion dollar Senate bill would be TERRIBLE for NY - only a "drop in the bucket" compared to need.  "I'm telling you these numbers don't work and I told House members, we need your help"

Part of New York's 'drastic need' comes from piss poor policy, even policy in direct opposition to advice already given, possibly done to achieve a result that could be milked for political gain, if not fiscal relief, done in contempt for the safety and well being of their population.

Make your own bucket, NY. Fill it yourself. You have repeatedly stymied economic growth, even to the point of harming consumers in other states. You have ignored science, both in making general policy and in this instance, especially.

I don't see why the rest of the country should subsidize your stupidity.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

At this point I think no bill is better than what we keep hearing is in this bill. If there is no relief/stimulus I may be put out of business, but better that than being a man held in bondage by a radical leftist state.
