2 Americans and 1 Brit killed when 15 Katyusha rockets landed at Taji Base in Iraq
by The Iranian  8 mins ago

15 rockets have hit a base near Baghdad that houses US personnel, the Iraqi army has reported.

The Katyusha rockets struck al-Taji, located 27km north of Baghdad, on Wednesday, the Iraqi army reported. The base houses American forces in addition to Iraqi soldiers.

According to Jennifer Griffin, National Security Correspondent for FOX News: “2 Americans and 1 Brit were killed when 15 Katyusha rockets landed at Taji Base in Iraq at about 7:52 pm local time today. “ISIS doesn’t have this capability,” I am told by a US military source. The US military is still treating the wounded right now, which number more than 11.”

Bad attack... she makes it sound like an Iranian OR Iranian Proxy attack.

There's the Iranian.com and https://theiranproject.com/  , I think it's the latter one that seems to be the Iranian lobby in the US..  Iranian.com seemed to be first with a story on this.

Anyway, it was just a few days ago, we lost 2 soldiers in Iraq, that's 4  Americans this week alone or at least, in the last 7 days.  We do not know the status of those kilked, soldiers, contractors, etc.

11 injured, you know, this...

On Friday morning, the Department of Defense identified the two U.S. service members killed in a Wednesday rocket attack against Camp Taji, Iraq.

U.S. Army Spc. Juan Miguel Mendez Covarrubias, 27, of Hanford, Calif. was killed in the rocket attack, as was Oklahoma Air National Guard Staff Sgt. Marshal D. Roberts, 28, of Owasso, Okla., the Pentagon confirmed in a press release.

Mendez Covarrubias was a member of the 1st Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division based out of Fort Hood, Texas. He was posthumously promoted to the rank of Specialist.

Roberts was a member of the 219th Engineering Installation Squadron of the Oklahoma Air National Guard.

The deadly rocket attack also resulted in the death of a British service member stationed at the base. The British service member was identified as LCpl Brodie Gillon, 26, of the U.K.’s Scottish and North Irish Yeomanry reserve unit. She reportedly volunteered to join the Irish Guards Battle Group when it deployed to Iraq for 2020.

Alix Culbertson, news reporter

A British soldier killed in a rocket attack on a military base in Iraq has been named as 26-year-old Lance Corporal Brodie Gillon.

She was killed alongside two US troops in the attack on Camp Taji, north of Baghdad, on Wednesday.

Twelve other coalition personnel were injured as 18 Katyusha rockets hit the camp. It is not yet clear which country the injured were all from, but the US said five required "urgent" medical attention.

...

Lieutenant Colonel William Leek, LCpl Gillon's commanding officer, said: "LCpl Brodie Gillon was a hugely popular character in the Scottish and North Irish Yeomanry and we are proud and humbled to have served with her in our ranks.

No.

The "right response" ought to be to get every American OUT OF that hellhole and let them rot.

They are muslims, and not worth "defending".

Sorry if you don't like that.

They’ve been killing each other long before there was even a United States of America so  we’re not going to change that
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

Getting our people out is the most important thing there is, without a doubt. Let the Euroweenies and others take over and pay with their dollars and their sons and daughters lives, we've sacrificed enough already in a religious war that may never end. That said, until that day we need to respond in such an overwhelming manner, that is accomplished with the least risk to our people, such as drones or a high altitude drop of a ginormous FAE repeated until they either have a come to Jesus moment or there isn't enough of them left to scrape into a Dixie Cup.
