According to multiple polls, President Donald Trump’s approval rating has taken a nosedive in the last two weeks.

Rasmussen Reports, which tracks Trump’s approval rating daily, shows that Trump, who had a +1 positive approval index on February 25th, has dropped 12 points to -11.

On Wednesday, just 33% of respondents “strongly approve” of the president, while 44% “strongly disapprove,” indicating a -11 approval index.

This recent drop in approval is reflected in other polls.

RealClearPolitics’s average of polls over 14 days also shows the decline. Two weeks ago, Trump showed a 4.3 disapproval average. On Wednesday, the disapproval stood at 8.6.

I figured this would be the case with the Rats and MSM's hysterical reporting.

It will likely come down to how the US does compared to other countries when this pandemic burns itself out over the summer. If it fairs better than others then Trump can tout his leadership. If it does worse not so much. I don't know what to expect.

Consider it an early "October surprise".

Why in the bloomin' blue blazes should/would the coronavirus have anything to do with Donald Trump OR the economy?  Hell's Bells, the flu doesn't, and that kills more people quicker!

Back in the 1950's, several schools in my hometown area were closed because of an epidemic of scarlet fever/tena.  Me and a cousin of mine were two of the lucky winners who lived through that.  Something like this excuse of a disease is nothing in comparison.

People should wake up to reality and get on with their lives.  LeBron is right.  (for once.)

There is a reason the surprise has to be in October.

Not necessarily.   As long as the surprise works as intended, it can come at any time.

In this case.... it needed time to "gin up" in time for the election.

In times of adversity, confusion and fear, great leaders step up, seize the initiative and calm the storm. Trump remains oblivious to all of that.
It's fortunate for him that we are in March and not late October!!!

Gov. Andrew (Asshat) Cuomo was on the local NYC news station saying how his coronavirus thing reminds him of the poor Federal response after Katrina.  What a jerk.

The federal response was OK.  It was the State response that sucked.

Remembering Katrina: Landfall

In the first nine hours after Katrina came ashore, Coast Guard helicopter crews had rescued 137 people.

~

n total, the Coast Guard had 26 cutters, 38 helicopters, 14 fixed-wing aircraft, 13 Auxiliary aircraft, 119 boats and eight Marine Safety and Security Teams and Disaster Assist Teams and more than 5,600 Coast Guard men and women involved in the rescue.

At the peak of the Katrina response, the Coast Guard rescued 750 people an hour by boat and 100 people an hour by air.

As the clock wound down on the first day following landfall, Coast Guard men and women knew that it was only the beginning of a long and demanding rescue and recovery operation.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that 47% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Fifty-two percent (52%) disapprove.

The President's approval has been between 46% and 48% for months ...

Sorry.... but the President's approval is holding steady and enthusiasm for the President remains sky high as evidenced by the historically high turnout to vote tor POTUS in the uncontested primaries.

Haha. All the rat media needs to do now is extend the flu season by six months.

As soon as flu season is over, a month or two, Trump will be fine.

Thank you for a nice dose of reality.

Trump has done a good job on the Wuhan Flu from the get go. It is the public's willingness to panic that is making this so much tougher than it has to be. I see one scare story after another on the news and it really has no basis in reality. The Rats of course think this is going to be Trump's downfall, but they always bet against America.

Even Gavin Newsom (!) said Trump's response in handling a "sick ship" was top notch.  The Rats' attempts to smear Trump over COVID-19 is only making them look foolish and worse, partisan.

This is correct...as of this point. Given the endless media campaign to "Katrina" the President...its going to be a real fight to keep public opinion. The reality of the situation is that the United States government has been tremendously effective in managing the outbreak thus far...and much of the credit for that SHOULD go to the President (especially his early decision to shut down travel to a number of Corona heavy nations).

The other thing that no one is talking about with all the fear mongering is the mortality rate for the Wuhan Flu will be well below 1% when testing really gets going and a lot of people discover that a lot more people had it and got over it. It is the elderly who are at risk and to be honest what aren't they at risk for, it's part of getting old.

Just for a dose of reality I think the mortality rate for SARS was around 9% and for MERS was around 30%. People are panicking because the word PANDEMIC is being thrown around, but all that means is the virus is found in multiple countries.

Unfortunate timing for an economic crisis.  He was probably going to lose if Biden got the nom, but now he can pretty much count on it.
