Are Illegal Immigrants ‘Freedom Fighters”? Georgetown University Official says Yes

Georgetown University, a private Catholic university located in Washington, D.C., is a hotbed of liberal and left-wing activism. Among its many employees, it has at least one paid employee dedicated to serving undocumented students, whom Campus Reform highlighted.

The university’s newest associate director for undocumented students, Jennifer Crewalk, told the student newspaper in an e-mail that she believed her new constituents “are the freedom fighters of this moment and time.” She added that these students “are helping to awake[n] people to how important it is for our communities to be conscious.”

The position operates under the university’s Center for Multicultural Equity and Access and is a part of a trend to provide services to students without proper immigration documentation in the United States. Some of the examples of provided services are textbook options, printing, and summer housing.
