Senior Editor Mollie Hemingway joined Fox News’ “Special Report” to discuss New York billionaire Mike Bloomberg’s historic level of campaign spending, and what it reveals about the power of media and establishment consensus.

Hemingway pointed out how Bloomberg’s failed campaign, despite unlimited resources, pokes holes in the popular narrative that Russia helped Donald Trump “steal” the 2016 election.

“We had years where people were saying a couple hundred thousand dollars in barely literate Facebook ads from Russians caused Donald Trump to win. Here you had a guy spend nearly $1 billion and he went nowhere. It’s a humiliating defeat for Michael Bloomberg,” she said.

Host Bret Baier drilled the point home: “So Russians influenced the election with $200,000, or $300,000 in Facebook ads? And Mike Bloomberg couldn’t get more than 50 delegates with $600 million dollars?”

Despite pushback Wednesday night from at least two members of Zuckerville, FNC host Bret Baier and the Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway torched the liberal media narrative during Special Report that Russian-backed Facebook ads threw the 2016 election to Donald Trump while, in reality, Michael Bloomberg’s hundreds of millions of dollars didn’t buy him the 2020 Democratic nomination.

The show’s “All Star Panel” were discussing former Vice President Joe Biden’s resurgence and upsets on Super Tuesday over socialist Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) when Hemingway said it was “interesting that Bloomberg is out.”

It is the supreme conceit of leftist Dems that money in politics is evil.
Well, here we had a case of one candidate, Mikey Bloomberg, spending half a BILLION!!!! smackeroos to achieve virtually nothing as far as delegates. You couldn't turn on your tv or computer without getting smacked in the face by a Bloomberg ad these last few months.
You had another billionaire Dem candidate, Tom Steyer, who spent a quarter of a billion bucks to get exactly ZERO!!!! delegates.
If it did nothing else, the failure of the gazillionaires to get nothing from their endeavors in politics disproved the leftist theory about too much money unfairly influencing elections.
Those two candidates lost badly because nobody liked them.
They say money can buy you friends, but you couldn't prove it from the beating the two billionaire losers suffered this campaign season.

The Russians spent around $200,000 on facebook ads, and with those ads convinced voters to abandon Hillary and vote for Trump. Right?

Bloomberg spent around $700 million and could only win American Samoa.

And the hardcore crazies in the democrat party still think Russia got Trump elected. You can’t make this up! If this were a novel, nobody would buy it for it being too unbelievable.

No matter how many times the Russia-Trump collusion theory has been debunked, libs still cling to it. Like Deontay Wilder claiming his heavy robe robbed him of his strength in his fight against Tyson Fury.
