Did some brief research on the claim that the disease can recur.  Apparently, it came frim a doctor in China.  Sorry, but I don't trust any information from China.  Since this is relatively new to the US, how would anyone here know if the virus can return?

And also in Japan.  There is speculation that they were not really clear of the virus after passing a test of no longer infected.  Some places are now requiring to pass 3 tests, each a day a part, before being declared free of the virus.

In addition to the above, I also understand that it may have to do with what type of test is performed and when. COVID-19 while it enters the body via the same transmission routes as colds and flus (mouth, nose, eyes) it infects deep down in the lungs.  The nasopharyngeal swab or sputum may not always capture enough of the virus to conclude a positive result.

Could it be a different strain?

They are starting to figure out they are the losing end of this food fight.

Or they figure they're giving Trump the rope they can hang him with.

Once they give the executive branch the money, they've washed their hands of the problem. After all they gave him more than he asked for - their hands are now clean.

It is the executive branch who is actually stuck with the problem. And it may well turn into a major problem no matter how well it is handled and the Dems can blame Trump for the deaths that are coming.

That's how I see their action.

I'm thinking it's the latter.  It's like when people have an infection and are given meds, but one they feel better, they stop taking the meds.  The infection may be weakened, but once the meds are stopped, the illness returns.

This thing likely came out of a Chinese lab. Who knows what its characteristics are long term. It may not be a "natural" combination of viral agents. Does it damage the immune system? Does it change making it a moving target for the immune system? Does it lay deep in areas of the body and reemerge after the immune system is weakened?

In this case it is a viral infection. The only real killer of it is the immune system so far. So if it reemerges the immune system wasn't able to take it out completely. That's bad.
