Nineteen states are going to court to stop the Trump administration from diverting billions of dollars from the military toward a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.

The lawsuit says diverting billions from defense programs in the states, including from National Guard accounts, "will cause damage to their economies, harming their proprietary interests." The states also argue that the diversion of money already allocated by lawmakers toward a border wall violates Congress' appropriation powers.

The states involved in the lawsuit are: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia and Wisconsin.

I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

It is a military endeavor as it is an invasion on our soil.

Use the money to build a wall or firing bullets, makes no difference to me.

Just needs to be done.

This lawsuit is illegal. Under Wisconsin State Law, the Wisconsin Attorney General must aks permission from the Wisconsin State Legislature before filing or joining any lawsuits against the Federal Government. Josh Kaul never did so.

Considering that under the Constitution, originally, every State provided for its own Militia, not one funded by (nor controlled by) the Federal Government, the National Guard is part of the Federal Military and funded as such.

In short, that funding is at the discretion of the Feds.

However, I would wager that each of these States spends far more due to the ongoing invasion, in Law enforcement costs, prisons, social program money, housing subsidies, and other aid programs than the cut from the National Guard budget will be.

Money is fungible. Quit being sanctuaries for invaders (that's expensive), and apply the savings the invaders have been costing to the local branch of the National Guard yourselves.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
