California woman is second American to contract coronavirus from unknown origin

The second coronavirus case in which officials have not been able to determine its origin was confirmed in California.
The Washington Post reported Friday that a 65-year-old woman in Santa Clara County was diagnosed with the illness. People familiar with the case said she has had no known travel history to countries where the virus has spread. Additionally, there is no known connection between the patient and any other infected person.
Earlier this week, officials said another California woman, about 90 miles away in Solano County, was the first case involving a community transmission of the coronavirus in the United States after she tested positive without having traveled outside the country or knowing anyone with the illness. Currently, the U.S. has 63 patients with the coronavirus. Of those, 44 cases were found in people who were on the quarantined Diamond Princess cruise ship.
The spread of the infection has caused the stock market to suffer its worst week since the 2008 financial crisis. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped nearly 4% at its close on Friday, and the S&P 500 dropped more than 3%.
