O'Brien claims Russians want Sanders to win because he would cut military spending

White House National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien claimed Sunday that Russia was supporting Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-Vt.) presidential campaign in hopes he would cut the U.S. military budget.

“What I heard from the FBI is that Russia would like Bernie Sanders to win the Democrat nomination and would probably like him to be president, understandably, because he wants to spend money on social programs and probably would have to take it out of the military, that would make sense,” O’Brien said on CBS’ “Face the Nation.”

O'Brien didn't provide any further evidence to back up the claim.

Given how much damage to the US every Dem candidate has promised to do, I don't know how the Russians could pick a favorite.

Nothing new or insightful. The term "guns and butter" originated in LBJ's time or before.

Free medical care for illegal immigrants is a democrat party platform, like Venezuela and Cuba..

It was around in the 1930s. IIRC, Hermann Goering said something along the lines of, "Guns make us strong. Butter makes us fat." At the time Goering was, ummm, a man of substance.
