Members of the US government held a conference in Washington this week on the topic of Chinese theft of intellectual property from US technology firms and the US academic sector.

Officials said the purpose of the conference -- named the China Initiative Conference -- was to bring the US private sector and the academic and research communities up to speed with the US government's investigations.

I doubt it. I PERSONALLY reported Chinese theft of American intellectual property back in the 1980's to Postal Inspectors, and they just laughed and said there was nothing they could do about it because they couldn't open the packages to inspect them. Which left me wonder just exactly WHAT it was POSTAL INSPECTORS were hired to do.

It was pretty common knowledge even back then them all the Chinese "students" coming to the US on "student visas" were actually officers in the Chinese Army, and they were/are here taking technical courses and mailing literature, books, class lessons, and everything else they could get their hands on back home to China.

Nobody gave a damn back then, and nobody really gives a damn about it today.

BTW,since then the Chinese have upped their game, and now they mostly hire professors, tool and die makers, computer techs, etc, etc, etc to go to China and teach their trades there, thereby putting themselves and their children out of work in the very near future, and those jobs will NOT be coming back.
Anyone who isn't paranoid in 2021 just isn't thinking clearly!
