Trump is licking his chops over a second-rate Democratic field
by Quin Hillyer

All those pundits saying the Iowa caucus fiasco suddenly makes the Democrats weak for the fall election against President Trump are wrong — there was nothing sudden about their weakness at all.

Even before Iowa, this Democratic field was embarrassingly weak. It is woefully lacking in stature, accomplishments, competence, and salable political philosophy. Most of its major contenders are either too old or too young. And now, the national party infrastructure’s obvious disarray only exacerbates these problems.

Consider front-runner Bernie Sanders. His popularity with historically illiterate, willfully ignorant millennials aside, he would be a joke as a general election candidate in any other year. He’s not just a “social democrat” — he's spent decades as an open sympathizer for communist causes. One small improvement for veterans aside, his legislative achievements in 30 years are nearly nil. By Election Day, he’ll be 79 years old and a recent heart attack survivor.

I realize I'm biased, but I don't see a really strong candidate among the Dem field.
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

Second-rate is giving these idiots far more credit than they deserve. This is, by far, the worst assemblage of candidates for president from a major party I've ever seen.

I don't either, and if they decide to do a second-ballot draft of Hillary Clinton, she'll go down as a three-time loser.

Her 2020 voters will basically be a significant subset of the voters in '16, but I think a lot of people who voted for her will go Trump this time.  There is a reason the Gipper went from a landslide win over the hapless Carter in '80 to a 49-State blowout against the even more hapless Mondull in 84.  If the economy stays sound, I don't see people flocking away from Trump, despite the Rats' best attempts to smear him.

Smearing is all they got.  There will be an increased diet of that in the months to come.

All the Dem candidates are basically saying:
"American is an awful third world country, everybody is impoverished except for the one percent, and all you white people are racists......please vote for me."

Hey, what a great pitch to the bulk of the voters....you're all rotten racists.  Vote for me.

Don't be fooled.
ANY ONE of the democrat-communist candidates launches out-of-the-election-gate with 40-43% of the popular vote guaranteed. And can build from there.

My prediction for 2020, stated before, which I'll repeat:
Mr. Trump will win again, but it WILL NOT be "a landslide" nor anywhere close to that.
He'll win the electoral college with about the same count as last time (he might pick up Minnesota this time).
He may also win a very modest majority in the popular vote.

But that's it.
There will be no more "Republican presidential landslides" in American history.
Those days are over.

I would VERY much enjoy being proven 100% wrong on November 3.
But I call 'em as I see 'em, and that's how I see this one.

We'll have to see in the next 3 small states of NH, NV, and SC, but I see, if he doesn't stumble, focusing on Buttgigger as the gay Obama.

Then again, they may have just chucked the whole thing and are looking at '24., and the whole exercise is to just get rid of the old and crusties.
The Republic is lost.

It's Sanders' last shot, he's gotten farther than he ever could have dreamed, and I don't think he'll go away gracefully after coming this close. He doesn't owe the dems anything, they don't like him. If he doesn't get the nomination I think the odds are at least 50-50 and climbing that he'll make a 3rd party run.

I wonder about Clinton bashing him again this week, flouting their precious "party unity". Is she goading him to do just that?

Edit> Another point - Bloomberg is openly anti-Sanders. If it ends up being Bloomberg's money that successfully derails Sanders, it gives him the perfect excuse to throw the party under the bus.

@Fishrrman

I agree
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

Agreed. The fact that a declared socialist and other Dem candidates have a chance to be nominated for president bodes ill for the future of the country. Whether Trump trounces them or wins by a slim margin, there are too many ignorant, spoiled young people who've swallowed the far left koolaid.
Undoubtably, at some some future date someone like AOC will get elected president. Maybe her.
America will have to go through a severe depression or something worse before the ship is righted again. If ever.

The severe depression would just be the start.  It will deepen because the only people left in power will just tighten the socialist thumbscrews.  It would take a violent revolution to right the ship, because there is no way the communists would ever relinquish their power willingly. It would make the French Revolution look like a cakewalk.

This is why they have to be stopped.  There will be no going back short of bloodshed.
