Dem-controlled House votes to kill GOP resolution condemning Pelosi for ripping up Trump's speech

The House on Thursday voted to table a Republican-led resolution to condemn House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., for ripping up a copy of President Trump’s State of the Union address earlier this week.

The vote, which fell along party lines, 224 to 193, effectively killed the measure introduced on Wednesday by Rep. Kay Granger, R-Texas, amid widespread GOP furor over Pelosi’s actions. The resolution called the speaker's public shredding of the address “a breach of decorum” and said it brought “discredit on the House.”

Pelosi’s action on Tuesday evening stole much of the spotlight from Trump’s State of the Union address.

I sat and watched the entire State of the Union. Nancy did try to cause some distraction during Trump's entire speech with her paper shuffling and sneering.  However, Trump's speech was so powerful and at times so very touching, I teared up and she in no way took away the spotlight or diminished his speech.   The Tuskegee airman, the little girl born at 21 weeks, Rush's Medal of Freedom, the father who was in the military that they brought in to see his family, the black man who was a recovering addict, the list of his accomplishments and his closing comments made an absolutely stellar State of the Union speech and one that won't be forgotten.  Nancy made a complete obnoxious fool of herself.  She's still having a hissy fit. Her comments at least to me are no longer relevant and meaningless. She is self-imploding.  You watch, her theatrics and the botched impeachment are going to be her legacy.  That is what she will be remembered for.  Nancy lost. Trump won.
