Police in New York are increasing their presence in subways Friday after members of the far-left Antifa movement called for a mass protest against law enforcement and transit fares.
The Police Benevolent Association of New York City issued a strong warning ahead of Friday’s Antifa demonstration, urging New Yorkers to “pay close attention.”
“This is [the] true endgame of the anti-police movement, an end of all policing & destruction of public order,” the group said in a tweet. “Our members have spent their careers -- and in some cases given their lives -- to bring public safety back to NYC. We can't go backwards.”

Masked anti-cop protesters flooded Grand Central Terminal at the start of rush hour Friday in an attempt to shut down the commuter hub — but the whole thing soon fizzled out.

There were at least 12 arrests by MTA police following a skirmish between cops and demonstrators, who refused to remove their masks despite repeated orders from police.  ...

Grand Central commuters were unimpressed with the 5 p.m. attempt to disrupt service, which dissipated within 30 minutes.

Multiple arrests were made in New York City Friday night as far-left and antifa protestors clashed during the #FTP (F*ck the Police) protests that started at Grand Central Station.

One protestor had a curious message for his arresting officers as he was cuffed and dragged off. “My dad works for the courts,” he repeated as he was escorted out of the subway station.  ...

As usual, I visited a number of CBS, ABC websites in various parts of the country as I do every morning.
Only CBS NYC had an article about this i.e. local news.
 A mob of thugs assaulting police officers and vandalizing businesses in the nation's largest and most important city was not news for many CBS, ABC, and NBC outlets around the country.

Black Shirts...Brown Shirts...Tonton Macoute...history is full of instances where violent groups were exploited for political gain.

Antifa is jsut the latest in a long line of violent fascist groups that fit that mold.

This is NY, if enough people get delayed or can't get on the subway won't the peaceful citizens of NY respond in a less than charitable manner? And if so considering Antifa's high regard of the police, might the police response be just a tad slow in coming to Antifa's rescue?

I am just waiting for them to try a new gimmick to stop the trains by throwing themselves onto the tracks.
