This is such a good question. What Schiff is skating by without understanding is that the Obama Administration worked with at least two foreign countries to investigate individuals associated with Donald Trump’s campaign.

Rand Paul is reading his question that names the alleged whistleblower to the press, but claiming he’s not saying that the person that he named was the whistleblower.

Exactly.  Paul simply stated some names.  It is the Democrats who are revealing that one of those names is the 'whistleblower' [sic].  This is no different than Robert Novak mentioning Valerie Plame's name, and then having Democrats reveal to the world that she was an undercover CIA agent.

This is new - Schiff suggests a one-week period for depositions and a “limited” time for witnesses, pushing back on concerns of “endless” delays. He said the Chief Justice can deal with any disputes. “This can be done very quickly.” He calls it a “reasonable accommodation”

Schiff suggested similar earlier this afternoon. But his most recent comments are more direct and a clear sign of what the Dems plan to push in the runup to the witness vote

When we have a President who so egregiously abuses and corrupts his office, unlike other countries, we have a remedy:

Impeachment.

This trial is now part of our Constitutional heritage.
 
But if we refuse a fair trial, it diminishes the example we set for the rest of world.

Lamar said he would announce his vote when this session is over.  I will try to stay up until this is over to see what he says.

I can't imagine a trial when there is a witness who was there and knows what happened and one side can prevent him from testifying.
