Sen. Elizabeth Warren came face-to-face with an angry voter who challenged her plan on student loans.
The man confronting the Massachusetts senator and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate on her plan to cancel student loan debt said he was the father of a college student.
He appeared to get more angry as Warren told him he could not get back the money he saved to pay for his daughter to go to college.
“I just wanted to ask one question. My daughter is getting out of school. I saved all my money. Am I gonna get my money back?†he asked.
“Of course not,†Warren responded.
“So you’re gonna pay for people who didn’t save any money, but those of us who did the right thing get screwed?†the father asked, referring to Warren’s proposal to cancel some or all student loan debts for those who borrowed money.
“No, you’re not going to get screwed,†Warren insisted.
