Pentagon: 11 US troops were injured in Iranian attacks on Iraqi bases
“As previously stated, while no U.S. service members were killed in the Jan. 8 Iranian attack on Ain Al-Asad air base, several were treated for concussion symptoms from the blast and are still being assessed,†said a U.S. Defense Department spokesperson.
(January 17, 2020 / JNS) While there were no U.S. deaths as a result of last week’s Iranian missile attacks on two Iraqi bases housing U.S. soldiers, 11 U.S. service members have now been reported as sustaining injuries, according to the Pentagon.
The New York Times reported on Monday that U.S. troops were treated for concussions following the attack. Confirming the report, the U.S. Defense Department said they were Medevaced to Germany this week for treatment.
