Huge Wave Sweeps Family Into Ocean: Daughter Dead and Missing Son as Giant King Tides Produce Dozens of Feet High Waves in the Oregon and southwest Washington Coast
A father and his two children were swept out to sea by a massive wave at Cannon Beach in Oregon.
The father survived, but his 7-year-old daughter died and his 4-year-old son is still missing.
Jeremy Stiles, 47, of Portland, was holding his two children, a 7-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy, onshore near Falcon Cove, south of Cannon Beach, Oregon, Saturday afternoon when a wave swept them out to sea.
When the police arrived, the girl was spotted out in the ocean while the father was struggling closer to shore. Both the father and the girl were taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
