How Obama Impacted the Military
By Janet Levy

Radical changes imposed on our military by progressives, begun in earnest during the Obama administration, are negatively impacting our combat readiness and jeopardizing the lives of our men and women in uniform and, ultimately, our national security.  In Stand Down:  How Social Justice Warriors Are Sabotaging America’s Military, author James Hasson elucidates how Barack Obama fundamentally changed military culture to make our nation less secure. Hasson, a former Army captain, Army Ranger School graduate, and Afghanistan veteran, argues that military readiness was sacrificed for identity politics and progressive rhetoric. He lists examples such as policies that established “safe spaces,” prohibited “micro-aggressions,” denigrated “hyper-masculine” traits, implemented unwise “green” standards and injected “social justice” guidelines in military operations.

In his revealing book, Captain Hasson describes how Obama’s military appointees, mainly progressive ideologues lacking military experience and hailing from academic, political, and the private sectors, were placed in charge of seasoned combat generals with decades of combat experience.  The priorities, experience, and philosophies of the officers and appointees couldn’t have been more disparate.

The military of all generations has always had what was effectively "Affirmative Action Generals/Admirals". They used to be the sons of nobility, and had the education and knowledge to function in those jobs, even if some were lacking in courage. Traditionally, the ones lacking in brain power were quietly discharged from the military and became nobility of some sort, and the ones lacking in courage became staff officers or Generals/Admirals in charge of support groups that never saw combat.

What is different now is the Affirmative Action promotions are based ENTIRELY on skin color, regardless of how stupid or cowardly they may be. Colin Powell is a prime example of this. Semi-bright guy that LOVED kissing ass,who spoke excellent English and happened to come along and be available at the time Kissinger decided he needed a darkie to carry his bags. Powell spent a whole year as an "advisor" to a North Vietnamese Ranger Battalion, and impressed them with his courage to the point where he didn't even get a "thanks for not blowing up our country" medal when he left. Nada, zip,NOTHING. He is the ONLY American officer I have ever heard of that spent an entire year as an advisor to a SVN infantry unit that didn't get ANYTHING.

AND.....,he is so dumb he even wrote in his book that after coming back from VN he got lost driving from NYC to Ft.Bragg. Since there are big-ass signs pointing to the exits off of I-95 pointing out the direction to Ft Bragg when you get close to Fayetteville,I have no idea how that was even possible. It DOES give an insight into why the SVN didn't give him any awards, though.

At that time we were lucky enough the AA officers went to assignments like "Aide" or to command suport units until they retired as a Captain or a Major, but now they are getting promoted to Commanding General of Infantry Divisions. People are going to die because of this.

One even got "promoted" to "Commander in Chief" of all our military.

Exactly @sneakypete
Once officers reach field grade (major), they are no longer military leaders, they are politicians.

When LTC Alex Vinman testified to the House impeachment committee, he talked like a SJW, about the ""power differential" between Trump and Ukraine.

Those careerists in the military, intellligence,State Dept. might as well be Sociologists at Yale.

SJW, Identity Politics,

They are going to get more people killed.
