Three people injured as masked gunmen opened fire in France’s Besancon: reports

Moscow/Sputnik/UNI: Unknown masked gunmen opened fire in the French city of Besancon, leaving three people injured, French media reported.

According to the France Bleu radio broadcaster, from three to four gunmen were involved in the incident that took place on late Wednesday.

One of the victims remains reportedly in a critical condition.

News is scant on this but it is being reported. It could be terrorism, perhaps it could be organized crime as well.

Not much on it yet. One report said it happened in an area known for drug dealing and such. While suggestive, it seems pretty speculative and the actual causes/motives could be quite different (e.g. antisemite-on-Jews, my first thought, given the French context and recent history).
