Has Nancy Pelosi punked her own impeachment?
By Monica Showalter

It's starting to look like the House vote to impeach President Trump was the impeachment that wasn't.

That's the word from a lot of legal scholars, including Noah Feldman, who was one of the three leftist professors who spoke before the House Judiciary committee, arguing for impeaching Trump. shortly before the Democrats' deed was done.

In a Bloomberg column, Feldman wrote:

Impeachment as contemplated by the Constitution does not consist merely of the vote by the House, but of the process of sending the articles to the Senate for trial. Both parts are necessary to make an impeachment under the Constitution: The House must actually send the articles and send managers to the Senate to prosecute the impeachment. And the Senate must actually hold a trial.

Pelosi already shredded her own claim of the necessity of haste to Impeach the President, by not sending the cherry boxes after naming the Impeachment Managers that very night.  In the words of Carole King:  "It's too late, baby, it's too late now..."

Nobody in the world will buy the "Every second counts!" argument when the idiot who made the argument proceeds to lock the Articles in her desk drawer.

I don't believe he is correct.  Impeachment is complete whenever the House deems itself to have completed the process of impeachment - the Constitution doesn't provide any guidance other than that, and never mentions sending the Articles to the Senate.  So when the Speaker says "he's impeached" after the vote, it's done.  The sending of the articles is a purely administrative step that the Senate can waive if it so chooses because it is only an internal rule anyway.
