BREAKING: Multiple People Stabbed Inside Shopping Center in Beaverton, Oregon

Multiple people have been stabbed at a shopping center near Portland, Oregon, KOIN-TV reports.

Police say that there are multiple stabbing victims at the Murray Hill shopping center in Beaverton. The suspect has been detained and there is no longer a threat to the public.

Police have not given an exact number of victims at this time, nor have they identified the suspect.

We will provide more information as it becomes available.

BEAVERTON, Ore. (KOIN) — One person is dead and two others were injured in a stabbing at the Murray Hill shopping center in Beaverton.

The suspect is in police custody and is no longer a threat to the public, according to Beaverton police.

The update time-stamp is a couple of minutes before I started to post this.

Wells Fargo customer killed, 3 injured in Washington County stabbing spree, officials say

A 20-year-old man fatally stabbed a customer at a bank in a bustling Beaverton shopping center and wounded three other people during a bloody crime spree Wednesday morning that included two carjackings, authorities said.

What began as a reported robbery quickly turned deadly when the suspect slashed two women inside the Wells Fargo branch at the Murrayhill Marketplace, police said.

The man then tried to make a getaway by stealing two cars, attacking the drivers inside each, police said.

His rampage ended several miles away when he ditched the second car and led officers on a foot chase through Tigard before police caught him.

Well, I expect the investigation is still going on.  Maybe the perp is still being interrogated.  I'm not going to make any judgments till more is known. 

I for one am glad no one is talking.  I would rather wait for official news than have to sift through a lot of Twitter feed from people who claim to know, but really don't.  This sort of thing gives rise to a whole lot of BS rumors, conspiracy theories and speculation.

Actually, most of the time, I get my only exercise jumping to conclusions.  It's brought me trouble quite frequently.   

In something like this, I remember all the phony stuff that was posted immediately after the Las Vegas mass shooting, including one that had a photo purportedly of the shooter.  Later, a real photo of the killer turned up and he didn't look anything like the initial photo posted on the web.   And you may remember after the San Bernardino killings, the mainstream media  immediately blamed "right-wing gun nuts" (that is, lily white folks).  Then it turned out the perps were two Muslims from the ME.

So I'll do my best to keep my lip zipped and wait for some official word.  Maybe more will be known by tomorrow.  I'll keep an eye peeled.

Salvador Martinez-Romero was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of murder, attempted murder and first-degree robbery, Beaverton police said.

IOW, roughly 8 hours from the commission of the crime to the police releasing the captured perp's name.
