Trump to sign executive order targeting anti-Semitism on college campuses
John SextonPosted at 7:01 pm on December 10, 2019

In signing the order, Mr. Trump will use his executive power to take action where Congress has not, essentially replicating bipartisan legislation that has stalled on Capitol Hill for years. Prominent Democrats have joined Republicans in promoting such a policy change at a time of rising tension on campuses over anti-Semitism as well as the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions or B.D.S. movement against Israel…
Under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the department can withhold funding from any college or educational program that discriminates “on the ground of race, color, or national origin.” Religion was not included among the protected categories, so Mr. Trump’s order will declare that Judaism may be considered a national origin.

Wrong, wrong, wrong.  We should not accept any religious discrimination.  All we need to do is follow our Constitution which guarantee's freedom of religion.  Christians also suffer heavily from discrimination.  What is the agenda here?

Colleges reject, fail, expel students for faith

Michael F. Haverluck (OneNewsNow.com)

But American Center for Law and Justice Senior Counsel for Digital Advocacy Matthew Clark says these forms of nominalizing Christians is by no means isolated to the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) and its Radiation Therapy Program.

“Public colleges and universities are taking the gloves off when it comes to Christian students on their campuses,” Clark asserts. “Gone are the days of surreptitious slights against Christians; now it is open season on faith. Blatant, in-your-face anti-Christian discrimination is the new norm.”
As LGBT rights are being boldly pushed on campuses from coast to coast, Clark is amazed that the rife and brazen discriminatory treatment of Christians receives little to no attention.

“Christians students now face their applications being rejected because they let it slip out that they are a person of faith, receiving failing grades for daring to allow their religious beliefs to outweigh the omniscience of the educational elites, or being outright expelled for having the audacity to live in accordance with their faith,” Clark informed. “The rise of anti-Christian discrimination on public university campuses is astounding in its breadth and shocking in its shamelessness.”

Congress should not have because it is unconstitutional.  Raising one religion over any other.

Left Attacks President Trump For Executive Order On Combatting Antisemitism

Trump’s EO 'Combating Anti-Semitism' arrives as antisemitism continues to proliferate on college campuses, largely under the guise of 'anti-Zionism.'

By Erielle Davidson
December 12, 2019

Just one day after two Black Hebrew Israelites targeted a kosher supermarket in Jersey City, killing one police officer and three private citizens, President Trump signed an executive order designed to address growing antisemitism on college campuses. The Order permits the federal government to deny funding to universities that don’t properly address the rising epidemic of Jew-hatred on their campuses.

Of course, the left is melting down Twitter with embarrassing hot takes.

The order directs those departments enforcing Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to adopt the definition of antisemitism formally recognized by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA). Title VI states, “No person in the United States shall, on the ground of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”

NY Times Story On Trump’s Executive Order Set Off A Major Freak-Out About Fascism, But The Story Was Wrong

Quote
Yesterday afternoon I wrote about President Trump’s plan to issue an executive order aimed at anti-Semitism. The NY Times was the first to report on the executive order and reported that, in order to allow the government to withhold funds from groups deemed anti-Semitic, Trump’s EO would redefine Judaism as a nationality. ...
...
This quickly caused a major freak-out on the left among journalists and politicos who suggest this was anti-Semitic and possibly part of a larger fascist plan to redefine American Jews as something other than American citizens.
...
I’m going to stop now but I could go on like this for a long time. And notice that many of these tweets received thousands of likes and retweets. The NY Times story set off a partisan panic. Today Jewish Insider got a copy of the executive order and, surprise, there’s nothing in it about redefining Jews as a nationality:
...
Vox has a story about it here and Slate has one titled “No, the Trump Administration Is Not Redefining Judaism as a Nationality. The piece states:

Quote
The New York Times’ reporting provoked anger among many Jews, who feared that an order to “effectively interpret Judaism as a race or nationality” would stoke anti-Semitism. But the order does no such thing. It restates the federal government’s long-standing interpretation of Title VI to encompass some anti-Jewish bias.

Title VI was passed by Congress long ago. This EO merely is a more formal statement of the guidance given by the Education Department since at least GWB as to how Title VI is to be understood and will be enforced.

ETA: https://reason.com/2019/12/11/the-new-york-times-continues-to-misreport-the-trump-executive-order-on-antisemitism/

Quote
The Times caused a freakout yesterday when it both misleadingly reported that the Trump administration was poised to issue an executive order "redefining Judaism as a nationality," and failed to provide any context, including the fact that both the Bush II and Obama administrations had used the same reasoning as the Trump executive order, to wit: Jews are covered by Title VI's prohibition on race and national-origin discrimination to the extent that such discrimination is based not on hostility to Jews as a religion, but to Jews as an ethnic group with perceived common characteristics. Its initial report also failed to note that the liberal antisemitism watchdog group, the ADL, which is no friend of the Trump administration and has been highly–and at times unfairly, as when its officials falsely blamed Trump for inspiring a rash of bomb threat hoaxes in 2017–critical of Trump with regard to antisemitism, supports the executive order.

No Gotcha Trump here ... sorry ... well, actually, not sorry.

Title VI isn't to protect religion.  Trumps EO makes Judaism nationalism rather than religion.  That just isn't so.

Oregon gunman singled out Christians during rampage
By Chris Perez, Danika Fears and Natalie Musumeci
October 1, 2015 | 7:04pm

A gunman singled out Christians, telling them they would see God in “one second,” during a rampage at an Oregon college Thursday that left at least nine innocent people dead and several more wounded, survivors and authorities said.

“[He started] asking people one by one what their religion was. ‘Are you a Christian?’ he would ask them, and if you’re a Christian, stand up. And they would stand up and he said, ‘Good, because you’re a Christian, you are going to see God in just about one second.’ And then he shot and killed them,” Stacy Boylen, whose daughter was wounded at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Ore., told CNN.

A Twitter user named @bodhilooney, who said her grandmother was at the scene of the carnage, tweeted that if victims said they were Christian, “then they were shot in the head. If they said no, or didn’t answer, they were shot in the legs.”

Someone that I know lost a family member in this shooting based on Christian persecution on a College Campus.

What Trump has done is raise one religion above another.  It erodes the U.S. Constitution that guarantee's freedom of religion to all.  If Trump intended on keeping our Constitutional liberties he would have created an EO that upholds the Constitution for all and punishes Colleges who allow any kind of hate and persecutions against people of faith.

@Chosen Daughter

I mostly agree. I would agree completely if you had included non-religious people  as people with a Constitutional RIGHT to live their lives in peace without fear of attack.

You do NOT have to be religious to be an American,or to receive the benefits and protections of being an American.

This article has the Trump EO embedded, https://jewishinsider.com/2019/12/exclusive-a-first-look-at-the-language-of-trumps-executive-order-on-antisemitism/ , and it looks like text from it can be C & P'ed. So, @Chosen Daughter please C & P from it the section that requires Title VI to protect a religion or that defines the religion of Judaism as a nationality.

Or maybe you could just take the word of the article ...

Quote
The order calls for the enforcement of “Title VI against prohibited forms of discrimination rooted in anti-Semitism as vigorously as against all other forms of discrimination prohibited by Title VI.” The order also calls on departments enforcing Title VI to consider “‘Contemporary Examples of Anti-Semitism’ identified by the IHRA, to the extent that any examples might be useful as evidence of discriminatory intent.”

Initial reporting indicated that the order would include language defining Judaism as a “national origin,” setting off a frenzy among major Jewish organizations, activists and lawmakers. The draft text of the order obtained by JI makes no such reference.

... and move on.

Seems to me that almost all the "stoopid" on college campuses comes from the professors. I actually think most of them would starve to death if they lost their teaching jobs and didn't have mama's around to feed them.

NYT Invents Contents of Trump Executive Order to Push “Antisemitism” Narrative
by Matt Palumbo Posted: December 11, 2019

The New York Times set off the latest batch of far-left hysteria last night as “Judaism”  became a trending topic on Twitter. Why? Because of a bogus New York Times report from Peter Baker and Maggie Haberman. According to their narrative:

President Trump plans to sign an executive order on Wednesday targeting what he sees as anti-Semitism on college campuses by threatening to withhold federal money from educational institutions that fail to combat discrimination, three administration officials said on Tuesday.

So that’s all good, right? It’s the next paragraph where the Times sent the twittersphere into a tailwind:

The order will effectively interpret Judaism as a race or nationality, not just a religion, to prompt a federal law penalizing colleges and universities deemed to be shirking their responsibility to foster an open climate for minority students. In recent years, the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions — or B.D.S. — movement against Israel has roiled some campuses, leaving some Jewish students feeling unwelcome or attacked.

I am not easily intimidated either.  And this is unconstitutional.  Some day the U.S. Constitution will not be worth the paper it is printed on if we continue to erode it this way.

You may not agree with this, but I will say this also.  Trump made this decision and didn't take into account that we already have a founding document that does this.  Not for one class of people but for all.  He has opened the door for all kinds of litigation that will end up in court.  The same way the gays did and good people will be sued.  He made this about college campuses but set a precedent that will lead to the same protected status that LGBTQ...…. have over all people in the United States.  And jews, whether religious or not will be suing people and private businesses.  Whether it is about employment, or personal religious beliefs.  Political beliefs that are critical of Israel also.  Which by the way a majority of Israel Jews are secular.

And if your browser and other software allow it, you could Google (or search engine of choice) the Nazis' and other antisemites' caricatures of "Jewish" features.

@Chosen Daughter

Trump is just dealing with a pre-existing condition and doing the best he can with it. He did NOT create it.
Anyone who isn't paranoid in 2021 just isn't thinking clearly!

Are you unaware of the State of Israel?

Israel is a secular state.  It could only be a Jewish State if they weren't such hypocrites.  Israel supports things like abortion and homosexuality, but they are concerned that pushing a button on an elevator during Sabbath is "work".

Right now there is a movement to remove the law that that shuts down business and transportation on Fridays.  Its just like everywhere else when you are a majority of secularism.  You either follow the Law or don't.  Otherwise its just a brood of vipers.

Israel is considered the most tolerant country in the Middle East and Asia to homosexuals, with Tel Aviv being named "the gay capital of the Middle East" and considered one of the most gay friendly cities in the world. The annual Pride Parade in support of homosexuality takes place in Tel Aviv. Sep 3 2019

Israel’s abortion law now among world’s most liberal
Despite its conservative leanings, government approves free pregnancy termination for nearly all women, and it barely causes a ripple

Israel, a nation with a forceful religious lobby and a conservative prime minister, is poised to offer its female citizens some of the most liberal abortion coverage in the world.

The nation’s Health Ministry commission, led by Dr. Yonatan Halevy, last week announced its state-subsidized “health basket,” the package of medications and services that all Israeli citizens are entitled to under the nation’s health care system. It was approved by the cabinet on Sunday. The health basket is analyzed and amended on an annual basis, and among the many additional treatments to be offered to Israelis in 2014 are free-of-charge abortions for women ages 20-33.

And you wonder why the Jews in the U.S. are so liberal?

AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.
