The editor in chief of Bloomberg News announced in a memo to his staff that they will not being doing investigations of their founder and of his rivals for the Democrats’ nomination. But President trump remains a target. Michael Calderone of Politico:

    Bloomberg News will report on Michael Bloomberg’s 2020 presidential campaign, though will not investigate the candidate or his Democratic rivals, the company’s top editor told staff on Sunday.

    “We will write about virtually all aspects of this presidential contest in much the same way as we have done so far,” editor-in-chief John Micklethwait told staff in a Sunday memo. “We will describe who is winning and who is losing. We will look at policies and their consequences. We will carry polls, we will interview candidates and we will track their campaigns, including Mike’s.”

The most insidious power the media has, is the power to ignore. In different times, significant events were easily and quietly passed over by the mainstream media, with most folks none the wiser of important news.

Ignore the approval polls. They’re mostly trash and it doesn’t negate the fact that President Donald Trump is on track to be re-elected. For those who aren’t brainwashed liberals, this shouldn’t come as a shock. We have a Democratic Party that is making 2020 a year about destroying hundreds of millions of private health insurance plans, giving illegal aliens health care, decriminalizing border crossing, bashing cops, especially Immigration and Customs Enforcement, raising taxes, and killing jobs. Oh, and beheading those evil billionaires because envy is such an appealing characteristic in candidates. Also, pushing laws that would permit abortion up until the moment of birth and having taxpayers bear some of the cost is also not popular.

Bloomberg News ordered his staff of thousands of journalists to not conduct investigative reporting on any of the Democratic presidential candidates, the outlet’s editor-in-chief announced Sunday.

The announcement by John Micklethwait followed Michael Bloomberg‘s official campaign launch Sunday. “We will continue our tradition of not investigating Mike (and his family and his foundation) and we will extend the same policy to his rivals in the Democratic primaries,” editor-in-chief John Micklethwait wrote in a note to staffers.

“If other credible journalistic institutions publish investigative work on Mike or the other Democratic candidates, we will either publish those articles in full or summarize them for our readers — and we will not hide them.”

If he's running for POTUS, doesn't he have to divest himself of all his business interests that might conflict with his ability to fairly administrate the office, just like the commiecrats demanded of Trump?  I can't believe owning a news organization where he can get all the free publicity he wants and all the attack ads the papers can hold would be considered fair.  On the other hand, he is a commiecrat so fairness and integrity don't have any meaning in his world.

Bloomberg News announced that it would continue its tradition of not investigating its owner, Michael Bloomberg, even as he entered the 2020 presidential race. The outlet also claimed it would refrain from investigating the other Democratic candidates. Yet the outlet also announced it would investigate President Donald Trump, Bloomberg's potential competitor. According to a new Federal Election Commission (FEC) complaint from the Media Research Center (MRC), this likely violates the law.

"Bloomberg News is making a mockery of legitimate journalism. They have consciously chosen to abandon their journalistic responsibilities in favor of what is politically convenient," MRC President Brent Bozell said in a statement. "This is a public declaration that Bloomberg’s newsroom is adopting media bias as an official policy,"

"This is not only categorically unethical, but potentially illegal, which is why we are calling for an investigation," Bozell added.

Media Research Center, obviously, has a POV, and a complaint to the FEC is not an FEC decision, but I think this is a pretty blatant violation.
