I read the story. The writer of the article, naturally, makes sure to state that real hate crimes far outnumber hoaxes.
In reality, a hate crime to liberals is someone saying they don't much like certain ethnicities and are overheard saying it by easily offended people.
No excusing haters, but it's not a crime to say you don't like certain people...even if you say it to their face.
What the lib writer omits is the amount of "hate" crimes loudly broadcast by the various fraudcasting networks that turn out to be hoaxes. There is never an apology by the fraudcasters. They just sit and wait (and hope for) the next "hate" crime.
And only "hate" crimes against certain demographics are shouted and screamed out by the lib organs.
A cop shooting and killing a minority under questionable circumstances is played up by my local lib tv station for days on end.
If a cop gets shot and killed, and three were shot and killed this past week,  it's rarely mentioned by the same tv station.

An openly gay liberal has admitted to vandalizing an Indiana church with pro-Nazi Donald Trump rhetoric last November as a way to rally people following the presidential election.

St. David's Episcopal Church in Bean Blossom garnered national headlines when immiedately after the presidential election it was spray-painted with the message "Heil Trump," a homophobic slur, and a swastika.

However, on Wednesday, Brown County Prosecutor Ted Adams filed a criminal mischief charge against George Nathaniel "Nathan" Stang.

In an interview with the IndyStar, the 26-year-old Stang explained that he vandalized the church as a "false flag" operation to rally people following Trump's electoral victory.

Nope maybe not, but the issue remains germane. Between the coming election, and the ongoing agitprop of the MSM, I expect more such nonsense.

Interesting that the fellow was quoted as sayign it was meant as a "false flag" operation,which implies some education in propaganda techniques favored by communists and fascists throughout the history of their movements, and currently used to manipulate the American public as well.
By the time the retraction appears, in the fine print in the back pages next to the contract being let to clean the town comfort station, the damage has been done to the target by the hype and hoopla of mere accusation, sensationalized in the media against the offending group, whether they did anything or not.

In reality, constantly blaming people for something they didn't do, and doing so publicly and loudly, will, at some point cause someone to decide that if they are going to be blamed for some act they didn't do anyway, they should (with pent up enmity from being falsely accused) at least have the 'satisfaction' of having done it. Well mannered folks will refrain, even if the thought crosses their mind, but every now and then someone will through combination of circumstance, aggravation, whatever, 'snap' and actually perform the act they have been heretofore unjustly accused of. So, not only is this false flag crap a manipulative technique, but a provocation as well.

The title of this forum is "National News/ Current Events". This incident happened 2 1/2 years ago and was not recently discovered/revealed. Therefore this is not the correct forum.

I did NOT deny or question whether race-, sex-, or sexual-orientation-based Hate Hoaxes should be discussed. Stories about recent ones should go here, because they are "news", "current". Much less recent ones that have not been discussed here before should be posted in General Discussion or Editorials/Opinion.

The sad thing about all the hoaxes is that they disprove the well-publicized lib-leftist falsehood that America is filled with mouth-breathing racists, homophobes, and general all-around haters who just can't wait to inflict some sort of evil on innocent minorites, sexual deviants, and liberals.

Considering that many of these protected groups have little to gain attention besides their alleged victimhood, and little otherwise to be 'proud' of, the only way they can keep themselves relevant and gain the attention they crave is to keep the drum of victimhood beating, even if they have to victimize themselves.
