WATCH: Juan Williams Calls Kanye’s Christian Faith a ‘Marketing Gimmick’
Mike Vance Mike Vance November 21, 2019

Democrats are so angry they will go to any length to attack those who aren’t among them. Take Juan Williams, for instance. He calls Kanye’s Christian faith a “marketing gimmick.”

While travelling the country helping people find Christ and direction in life, Williams somehow still finds a way to attack him for it.

Greg Gutfield believes it is genuine from the heart for Kanye. Juan Williams, the angry liberal, disagrees.

Williams did admit he can’t “read Kanye’s mind” but he is able to read “marketing ploys.” According to Juan, all West is concerned about is expanding his reach.

I am not a fan of Rap/ hip hop, or whatever they're calling it this week.
If Kanye has had a genuine conversion experience I commend him on it.
I am not going to throw aspersions on him even he he has not. It is his life and he is free to live it as he sees fit, as long as he is not hurting innocents. clearly something the pro-abort left will never understand.

@verga

I agree with all of the above, and will add that it is MY opinion that West isn't smart enough to understand "Marketing gimmicks". Yeah, hooking up with the Kardsahian whore turned out to be a HUGE marketing gimmick, but he wasn't and isn't the scheming one in that mix. That was all his mother in law. I am sure what motivated West to jump Khardasian bones was "Me so  horney!" What little brain power that goober might have ever had was fried by drug use.

I'm very wary of celebs going public with their Christianity. That said, Kanye seems to be walking his talking in some places other than PR-attractive places. As for Juan Williams, when was the last time he was within 100 feet of Kanye, let alone talked with him?

Some musical celebs have walked their talk in times past:

Who knows?  A lot of strange names out there these days.  It seems almost no one names their child John, Mary, Joe, etc.  -- names that were common when I was a kid.

On the other hand, maybe it's a good thing parents use less conventional names.  When I was a kid, the teacher would call out for John and 12 hands would go up.  Caused a lot of confusion.

These days any parent would have to consider the "Google" factor when naming children.  A child with an unusual name will be easier to locate on Google or Facebook as he grows older.  That might be good or bad.  In either event, it will be a significant factor in the child's life.

As for Kanye, I don't know whether his conversion is "real" or not, but he is doing a hell of a lot more good now than when he was pushing drugs, sex and lawlessness through his music.  I think Juan Williams, as a died in the wool secularist/socialist, NEEDS Kanye to be disingenuous just to preserve Williams' own world view.

Sad isn't it that we have people who doubt his sincerity that he trusts in his Creator and wants others to do the same?

Has Kanye done anything to cast this doubt upon his authenticity?

Kanye West is full of crap and contrary to belief he knows how to market himself.  If he was legitimately interested in preaching he would go to divinity school otherwise all he will ever be is an Al Sharpton-like preacher.

I don't recall divinity school being required by scripture as a pre-requisite for Christian ministry. Is it in the apocryphal book of Second Theologians?

I believe a lot of us suffer from a fundamental lack of trust.   There have always been phonies in this world.  Even the Bible warns against false gods and false prophets.  Just seems that these days there are so many of them around.  This lack of trustworthiness extends to every profession, every group, every race, creed or ethnicity.  We can't trust celebrities.  We certainly can't trust politicians.  But even worse, we can't even trust our religious leaders.

I really don't know whether West's conversion and reformation are real or not.   At this point, his sincerity or lack thereof is between him and his Maker.  I'm far more concerned with my own soul than his.

#PeteS in CA:  perhaps Divinity School isn't "Necessary" but it would help give him more credibility.  I still think he is full of it and an opportunist.

Given the current state of many divinity schools, that would give me concerns about him. Kanye at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis would be interesting, though, happy77. As for what he's about, I'm willing to see how it all turns out without judging him a phony or the next Billy Graham.

Why is divinity school important?

There's the money shot!
I look at miraculous conversions with a jaundiced eye too. But I reserve some hope, because miraculous conversions DO happen. No benefit of the doubt for West anymore than Tump when it comes to the Road to Damascus shtick... The only thing that will prove it to me is time.

And I would be happy to be wrong.
