Who ordered the murder of Katya Handziuk? A year without answers

In summer 2018, a horrendous acid attack killed Ukrainian civic activist Katernya Handziuk. A year on, there’s still no answers as to who ordered the attack.

Viktor Handziuk is a respected surgeon in Ukraine. He runs a surgery department at a hospital in Kherson, in the south of the country.

Every Sunday, Viktor posts pictures of his daughter Kateryna on Facebook. In one, you see Kateryna going to school, in another – father and daughter are travelling together in Poland.

But in the last days of October, Viktor Handziuk published a very different photo of his daughter, calling it “her last selfie”. This photograph shows Kateryna Handziuk breathing through an oxygen mask, her body bound up with bandages and large pink scars covering her arms and face.

Open Democracy is run by one of Putin's foes to expose corruption and so on in Russia.

Anyway, Katerina or Katya was attacked because she tirelessly investigated corruption in Ukraine. Zelenskiy, their present PM was probably elected as a vote AGAINST corruption.  So, worth bearing in mind in watching these 'hearings' in DC.

As said, I think the reporter was the victim of an acid attack meant to intimidate her; but it did kill her after months in the hospital.
