Gun Control Adds to the Death Toll in Illinois

(1/1)

Democrat legislators in Illinois make it hard for honest citizens to protect themselves. Illinois government is controlled by Chicago politicians, and, sadly, those politicians like gun-prohibition. They say their laws makes all of us safer. Facts say otherwise. Illinois politicians claim gun-control is “for the children” but we can count the bodies of the dead and injured who are the real victims of gun control.

Chicago has a problem with violent criminal drug gangs. Illinois politicians say the drug gangs would be non-violent if they couldn’t get guns. The solution, the politicians claim, is to pass more gun-control laws and to disarm more law-abiding citizens. That is what we’re told by Chicago politicians. The Chicago news media reports these political press releases without questioning their truth or looking for alternative explanations.

We can do what the news media should have done and take a deeper look at the problem. With 2015 people shot and wounded in Chicago this year, and an additional 415 shot and killed, it is obvious that existing gun laws have not made us safe. Politicians claim these violent drug gangs will obey the next gun law, even though the murderers, assailants and rapists ignored the 23 thousand existing firearms regulations that politicians have passed so far. Politicians say the same thing with every law they pass, so there is no reason to believe they are telling the truth this time.

Anyone who can bring a few kilos of cocaine/meth/lbs of pot/thousand MDMA pills, etc, won't have much trouble getting the hardware to protect their 'investment'--or their marketing territory.

This is the core refutation of the whole 'gun control makes you safer' glop. No gangs will be disarmed, no criminals will stop, and the law-abiding are placed at a serious disadvantage.

Curtis J. Tarver II, is an Illinois state representative. His accomplishments include voting to make it tougher to get a Firearm Owner Identification Card, letting his FOID expire, and then getting arrested for failing to surrender his revoked CCL permit.

Tarver was busted in a routine traffic stop Thursday night on Chicago’s south side. One of his headlights was out. When asked by the officer if he had any weapons, he turned over his concealed handgun and his CCL.

A CCL which he’d been notified had been revoked, due to his lapsed FOID. A CCL he been ordered to surrender to the State Police, but hadn’t.  ... More at The Truth About Guns
