Only God Knows Why - Kid Rock

www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDshdJK9Rwg

I still remember the first time I heard "Picture" playing. I was sitting in a pizza joint, and yelled for everybody else to shut up and asked the people there to turn up the volume.

My next move was to ask who that was singing, and was shocked to find out it was not only Kid Rock singing with Sheryl Crow, but he wrote the song and was playing the acoustic guitar.

Hard to believe such beautiful sounds and wisdom came from a guy famous for producing and playing Rap Crap.

Looking back on it,I guessed that at the time he was wanting to become a professional musician, rap crap was all you heard on the radio, and that's what you had to play and sing if you wanted  to make it big.

Which makes him not only a VERY gifted musician, but a shrewd man, also. Ya GOTTA give the people what they  want to hear,or you  will never make it big,and at the time he got  started,it was all about  Rap Crap.

You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.

Sniffin' the Tears

If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

-Dwight Eisenhower-

Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Here is ONE of my favorite versions. There are several more, and I can't pick a favorite. One invloves  or guys sitting in a circle  taking turns singing verses, but I can't find it right now.

This one ain't bad, either. Truth to tell,it would be hard to find a bad version if you tried.

  • Sinner saved by grace.
What is the gospel? I’ll put it in a sentence.
The gospel is the news that Jesus Christ, the Righteous One, died for our sins and rose again, eternally triumphant over all his enemies, so that there is now no condemnation for those who believe, but only everlasting joy.
That’s the gospel. (John Piper)

@Texas Robin lightly dropped the hint that she wanted to go see ZZTop (without Dusty) and Willie Nelson tonight at a local Venue, up at the Lake 2 days ago.  Tickets were $200, and if that wasn't reason enough, I've seen Willie at least 7 times and ZZTop at least 3 times.
Sure, I was stoned, but I remember.

This guy I'd pay to see, and he'll be through here, touring on his new album and Robin and I will be front row center.  He's obviously gettin 'old' like Willie and the most us.

@corbe  That guy (Rodney) grew up across the road from my in-laws place in Crosby, Texas. I saw him perform many times before he started getting paid for it.
