Newest Patriot missiles successfully intercepted tactical ballistic missile targets

Two newest Patriot missiles, PAC-3 Cost Reduction Initiative (CRI) interceptors, successfully intercepted two tactical ballistic missile targets today in a test at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico.
The PAC-3 missile, which is a “hit-to-kill†weapon, represents the next generation Patriot missile and provides expanded battlespace performance against evolving threats.
The PAC-3 system also has improved lethality against enemy aircraft or cruise missiles, with its high-explosive fragmentation warhead.
