Trump is the only one who can make his case to the public against impeachment

President Trump seems to have figured it out: If he wants something done, he’s going to have to do it himself because most congressional Republicans suck.
In an interview Thursday with the Washington Examiner, Trump suggested he might do something like a “fireside chat†on national TV and read the transcript of his phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which is now at the center of the ridiculous impeachment push by House Democrats.
"At some point,†he said, “I’m going to sit down, perhaps as a fireside chat on live television, and I will read the transcript of the call, because people have to hear it. When you read it, it’s a straight call.â€
Great start! If Trump wants to expose the impeachment effort for what it is — it’s nothing more than a power grab by not just Democrats, but by permanent Washington bureaucrats — no one can make that case but him.
He is the one who was elected, against all odds, to do things differently for the American people. Now he is going to have to be the one to explain why he did something differently and why it was okay.
