@EasyAce

Thanks for the play-by-play thread.

Was thinking of you guyz all night.  Watched it at my son's house.

Why in the world was Greinke taken out after giving up a frozen rope HR to Rendon and then.....HEAVEN FORBID...walking Juan Soto...with only EIGHTY (80) pitches....in the final game of the season????

@Right_in_Virginia

YO  ADRIAN!!!!!   ADRIAN!!!!!    {{{hoists WS trophy}}}        :patriot:

That was the first mistake, that led to others.
I think Greinke should have been left in until the Nats scored.
Others may disagree, and A.J Hinch has been right more than he's been wrong, but that was a head-scratchier.

Ja, that way inside called 3rd strike to Correa was nuts....

@EdJames

Congrats to you on the Rays season.
They had a great year.

That team will always have a special place of honor for Astros fans.
They let us place in their stadium after while Hurricane Harvey was tearing every thing up here.
Texas own Rangers wouldn't swap series with us.
I hate to say I "hate" any team, but the Rangers DO NOT hold a special place in Astros hearts and minds

Thanks @GrouchoTex!  Have high hopes for them next year too...

Your Astros made the run as far as possible, absent about 3 innings....

True, it came down to the last 3 innings, as a good world series should.

Congrats @DCPatriot !

I didn't follow the Nats very closely...  didn't know much about them....

That fellow Rendon is worth keeping....  and you've got some keen pitchers as well....  too bad the team plays in the swamp....

Having thought that Eddie Kendricks had already passed away, I was surprised to see him hit that HR last night....

Gerrit Cole already disowning Astros: ‘I’m not employed by the team’
By Ken Davidoff
October 31, 2019 | 2:35am

HOUSTON — His team just having suffered a stunning World Series Game 7 loss to end its season, Gerrit Cole held an awkward exchange with an Astros media relations official about speaking to the media late Wednesday.

“I’m not employed by the team,” declared the right-hander, who then relented, “I guess as a representative of myself …” and placed himself in front of a group of reporters.  ...  NY Post

If the Pirate organization had at least one brain cell, they would offer Cole a boatload of cash to come back.  But noooooo,  The team would rather save money by fielding a team off losers.

@DCPatriot

Congrats to the Nats!
I got the series I was hoping for in the last 2 years.
(I will be more careful what I wish for in the future  :cool:).
Rendon is pretty amazing.
As was pointed out earlier, this was the "road field advantage" series.
They'll see each other again soon in Florida.

@GrouchoTex

I think it's so cool that they share the same Spring Training complex together.

Delusional to think the Nationals can 'Repeat' next year if unless it's the same team.   They became 'Brothers' over the season.

If they lose Parra...it will affect Strasburg.   You cannot go out and just sign any "Hugger Dancer" to replace him.    :laugh:

Soaking it in...and reminiscing back to the 1960 World Series....when Mickey Mantle cried after losing to Maz and his Pirates in seven games.

Thinking of how every fourteen year old boy and girl out there in America will NEVER forget this one!

May have been one of the least watched...(bleepin' Joe Buck ruined the experience for millions), but for those of us who consider ourselves baseball purists, it was magnificent, dramatic baseball.

A different hero each night...   the dance line in the dugout after HRs...Eaton and Kendrick driving the diesel at the end of the bench!!
