Apple pulls iOS 13.2 update that was killing some HomePods

Apple updated its iOS software to version 13.2, which fixes a lot of bugs and gives the camera on the new iPhone 11 line more capabilities. It's good for mobile devices, but for Apple's HomePod smartspeaker, it can be deadly.

The company has pulled the iOS 13.2 for HomePod from distribution because some owners were reporting that it "bricked" the devices, rendering them unusable. Apple posted a support document warning owners of HomePods who may already have installed the 13.2 update not to reset the device or remove it from the Home app on an iPhone or iPad.

The new update was supposed to bring some nifty new features to the HomePod, which has been praised in reviews for its stellar sound but reportedly hasn't sold as well as Apple hoped. From the iOS 13.2 for HomePod release notes:
