Sanders: 'I don't think I have to' release details on paying for Medicare for all
By Nathaniel Weixel - 10/29/19 10:49 AM EDT

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) said he doesn't think he needs to release more details about how to pay for his "Medicare for all" health care proposal.

During a wide-ranging interview with CNBC's John Harwood published Tuesday, Sanders dismissed the idea that he should explain in detail how he'd pay for his signature health plan.

"You're asking me to come up with an exact detailed plan of how every American — how much you're going to pay more in taxes, how much I'm going to pay. I don't think I have to do that right now," Sanders said.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), another top tier Democratic presidential contender, has said she will soon release a plan to pay for her Medicare for all proposal after facing criticism for evading questions about the potential tax implications for the middle class.

Is that like, "You'll have to pass it to see what's in it"?
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

This reminds me of John Kerry.  He said he had a plan to fix the economy but we would have to elect him president to find out what's in it.

Uhhhhhhhhhhh no!

No, none of the Dems are going to tell us the details of Medicare for All.  They will sell it as more free stuff, however.  And their supporters will believe it.

He'll gives us Medicare for All. And Canada's gonna pay for it!
If a well-regulated militia be the most natural defense of a free country, it ought certainly to be under the regulation and at the disposal of that body which is constituted the guardian of the national security.

@austingirl

That may work with his followers. But not in the halls of Congress and the general public.
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

I'm not so sure about that.  The Democrats in general are all aflutter over this Medicare for All thing.  And I still say Republicans, while they talk against it, want it too.  Can't trust either party, particularly on this issue.

And as for the general public, well, they were suckered into Obamacare, but even though it didn't work out for many of them as they thought it would, many of them are suckers.  They will buy the line that Medicare for All is an improvement.  And there is a segment that, as long as they believe something is "free," they will go for it.  Look at how many young people are taught in school that socialism is good; capitalism is bad.  If they believe socialism is a good thing, they believe government should take care of all of their needs.  So of course, they will embrace Medicare for All.  The government is providing them with "free" health care, as it should according to them.  They aren't going to care about any potential downsides -- like maybe how much this is going to really cost them.

Of course there’s always going to be some segment of society of that loves the idea. Those are the people that will never have to pay for it. But for everybody else, they’ll see it for the boondoggle it really is

Look what happened in Colorado when universal healthcare was on their state ballot in 2016. This was the state that voted for Hillary Clinton. And even liberals in cities such as Aspen and Denver didn’t even vote for it. And that’s because the voters were educated what it would really mean. It was roughly 80% against. But it shows you that never take anything for granted and that conservatives always need to be ready to educate the public on these issues.

Do you believe that more taxes, losing your healthcare choices, losing your private insurance and pay for healthcare for illegal immigrants would be popular  outside the far left?

Well, he's just this guy running for President, so if he doesn't want to say, then he doesn't have to.  That worked out really well for Lieawatha.
