Schiff: 'Republicans would like nothing better' than for impeachment inquiry witnesses to coordinate testimony

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) defending conducting closed interviews as part of the House impeachment inquiry, suggesting House Republicans wanted public hearings so witnesses could coordinate their testimony.

“The Republicans would like nothing better if witnesses could tailor their testimony to other witnesses,” Schiff told Margaret Brennan during an interview on CBS's "Face the Nation." He was responding to a question about GOP contentions that Democrats are selectively leaking information on their interviews.

“We may very well call some of the same witnesses in public hearings as well, but we want to make sure we meet the needs of the investigation and not give the president or his legal minions the opportunity to tailor their testimony and in some cases fabricate testimony to fit their interests,” Schiff stated.

Oh, there's a lot of things that Schiff-for-brains is....

but a Congressman, ie a true representative of Americans, is definitely not one of them.

That's smart running closed hearing.  When you don't know what lies other people are going to say your best bet is to tell the truth.

Does anyone really doubt that these "witnesses" have been tampered with (coached) by Schiff & Co. already?   I sure as hell wouldn't take that bet.   The left just doesn't want the right to know how thoroughly and consistently "coordinated" these testimonies are, most likely.

I'm wondering if there are any Republicans in these "hearings."  I'm not seeing comments from them on the "hearings" that have been going on over the recess.  We assume there are, but I'm not seeing evidence of it.

Yet it is perfectly OK for Schiff to coordinate with the 'whistleblower' and tweet the contents of the complaint a full month before they were made public.

This is Schiff playing up the angle that all the people they call as "witnesses" are really just suspects in crimes.

Schitt, we already know you cooked up the whole thing,helped write the complaint, and are leaking selective out-of-context words from the closed-door hearings.

Interpretation: Schiffty accused the Rs of wanting to do what he and the Dems have been doing and continue to do with their pre-hearing meetings with "witnesses".
