According to this report, Romney doesn't intend to primary Trump, but is pushing for impeachment.  That would leave Pence, perhaps he feels that Pence would select him as VP?  Then impeach Pence and Romney becomes the President?  A long shot, but a possibility.

Mitt Romney has been working behind the scenes in anticipation of a Trump impeachment trial: Report

The following is an excerpt from Blaze Media’s daily Capitol Hill Brief email newsletter:

According to a new report, Mitt Romney may not be planning on challenging President Donald Trump on the campaign trail, but he’s making moves to undermine him in a likely Senate impeachment trial. Vanity Fair reports that Romney has “firmly decided” against primarying the president, but he has been reaching out to key Republican Senate offices on the subject of impeachment.

“He could have tremendous influence in the impeachment process as the lone voice of conscience in the Republican caucus,” a Romney adviser told the magazine, though the senator’s office didn’t comment on the story. “Romney is the one guy who could bring along Susan Collins, Cory Gardner, Ben Sasse. Romney is the pressure point in the impeachment process. That’s why the things he’s saying are freaking Republicans out.”..........

I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

For unvaccinated, we are looking at a winter of severe illness and death — if you’re unvaccinated — for themselves, their families, and the hospitals they’ll soon overwhelm. Sloe Joe Biteme 12/16
I will NOT comply.

Good Luck Sen. Romney.  The more Republicans you can get to vote for conviction, the weaker President Trump will be for the duration of his term.  Looking forward to your examination of corrupt Trump officials.  :pop41:

I'd suggest Romney should get warmed up by looking at the corruption of his own staff, before he sets about destroying the rest of the country.

This is creepy.

What can we expect of somebody who would strap a dog-kennel full of dog to the roof of his car?  This guy ain't right in the head.

@Cyber Liberty
Is that some fantasy story, or has there been a new Trumpbart breaking story?  Do you think the corruption you speak of will become an issue during the impeachment conviction?  Doesn't matter, President Trump will tweet something insane about how impeachment is unconstitutional, because he got jealous of Romney's scandal news coverage.  Many of his supporters won't recognize the tweet as insane but they will recognize dear leader is not on the screen, and turn it off.  Low TV ratings mean viewers might be thinking away from the television.

I understand you don't like Romney, but I think Romney is a good, and arguably a great man.  A much better man than me.  I find his biggest problem is he thinks the GOP still has some affiliation with conservatism.

If he is anything like me he believes President Trump is destroying the country faster than the rats.

@Once-Ler  I couldn't stand John McCain, either, and that's been since before Trump was a failing casino entrepreneur.

RE:  Romney...let's just say we don't agree.  Too much like Jeff Flake.
