Breaking-

German police say two people have been killed and shots were fired.

Two people have died in a shooting outside a synagogue in Germany, local media say.

Police, who are urging locals to stay inside, said two people were dead and that one person has been arrested.

A spokesperson added several shots were fired before the suspects fled in a car.

German newspaper The Bild is reporting that a hand grenade was thrown and that the attack happened in front of a synagogue.

The nearby train station has closed.

At least two people have been killed after a gunman opened fire outside a synagogue in  on Yom Kippur - the holiest day in Judaism.

One woman died after at least one attacker, believed to be wearing a military-style uniform, opened fire with a submachine gun on Wednesday morning.

A grenade was also thrown into the Jewish cemetery before the attacker fled,  reported. Several others were wounded.

Police have since arrested one suspect, though it was not clear whether more were still on the loose.

At this point, they are not looking Middle Eastern.... if that's what you mean. But we have not seen enough of them.  One of the men is under arrest per reports.

I don't speak German but usually, when something there is going on like this, it's picture-rich and for me, it's not too hard to see what they are saying and if so, then, one can translate it.

It sounds like the shooter is identified and live steamed it too (and if he did, that'd be something like Christchurch), that's what I'm getting.  Looks like a real 'Skinhead" too.  Stephan Balliet, 27.

It's sounding like this was a thwarted attempt on a Synagogue, good, he couldn't get in.
