THE wife of a US diplomat who's suspected of involvement in a teen's hit-and-run death claimed immunity to flee country, it emerged last night.

She left the UK while wanted in connection with the death of Harry Dunn, 19, who was killed in a horror crash in August.

Last night, the teenager's heartbroken family issued a direct appeal to US President Donald Trump to help them in their fight for justice.

In a statement to Sky News, they said: "President Trump, please listen. We’re a family in ruin. We’re broken.

"We can’t grieve. Please, please let her get back on a plane."

The wife of an American diplomat who allegedly fled the UK to avoid charges in a wrong-way crash that killed a British teenager was identified in a report on Sunday.

Anne Sacoolas, 42, claimed diplomatic immunity after hitting 19-year-old Harry Dunn’s motorcycle on Aug. 27 in Northamptonshire, England, Sky News reported.

The outlet didn’t say how they had identified the driver, who allegedly careened into Dunn while driving on the wrong side of the road outside RAF Croughton, an air force base used by the US.  ...

Immunity usually only covers diplomats and their dependents based in London. But there is a special arrangement, in place since 1994, for diplomats working at RAF Croughton, according to Sky News.

Local authorities and the victim’s family have been pleading for the woman to be sent back to face charges. ...

 Yep, sad story. Yes, she should be tried. That poor family, we can set an example because I know other countries have abused diplomatic immunity.

So, we still don't know the woman's name at least, publicly?   Okay, the new story does list the woman's name. Okay, thanks for this update.

The American whose wife allegedly struck and killed a British teen was not registered as a diplomat in the UK — possibly rendering the couple ineligible for diplomatic immunity, a lawyer for the victim’s family claimed Tuesday.

Jonathan Sacoolas was not named on the official diplomatic list, meaning he and his wife, Anne Sacoolas, may not have been covered by the protection, attorney Mark Stephens told the Guardian.

Stephens said this was confirmed by the UK’s Foreign Office, which handles Britain’s affairs around the globe.

The US Department of State did not immediately respond to a Post request about Sacoolas’ registration as a diplomat, but had previously said that “immunity is rarely waived.”  ...  Full story at NY Post

If she wrongly claimed immunity, send her back to Blighty. If she did have immunity, waive it and send her back. The UK is not a Hell-hole or led by a Stalin-like dictator that it would be trying frame and railroad Americans for fun and profit.
