On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher stated that while he doesn’t think 2020 Democratic presidential candidate former Vice President Joe Biden was “doing something terrible in Ukraine,” Hunter Biden’s behavior in Ukraine “does sound like something Don Jr. would do. And if Don Jr. did it, it would be all Rachel Maddow was talking about.”

Maher began by saying, “I don’t think he was doing something terrible in Ukraine, but it’s just so — why can’t politicians tell their f*cking kids get a job? Get a damn job. I mean, this kid was paid $600,000 because his name is Biden, by a gas company in Ukraine, this super corrupt country that just had a revolution to get rid of corruption. It just looks bad. And the Republicans are geniuses at muddying the waters. … It’s all going to be about, you did this in Ukraine, well, Joe Biden did this.”

Occasionally Maher comes close to getting something correct. IMO, this is much more correct, though:

* Hunter Biden had zero experience/knowledge in any energy industry; his position on the Burisma board was pay-for-play, a bribe;

* Joe Biden threatened to withhold foreign aid from Ukraine unless they fired the prosecutor investigating Burisma to protect Hunter's gig, blackmail for family gain.

But Maher is correct in that were "Don Jr." substituted for Hunter Biden and "Don Sr." substituted for Joe Biden, it would be impeachable and prosecutable and would quite appropriately be the lead story on all media.

The lack of coverage by Big Media over Biden's idiot kid's financial shenanigans with Ukraine is their usual  habit of doing a half story.
Big Media: "oh, did you see what Trump did in the Ukraine?"
Suspicious questioners: "how about Biden and son's sneaky financial deals with Ukraine?"
Big Media: "what financial dealings with Ukraine? We didn't see anything. Now, let's get back to what Trump did with  Ukraine."

Maher got close here, but still fell short. On a set of facts that are easy enough for a grade schooler to understand.

So still no cookie for Bill.
