Bettors are pushing up the odds that President Trump will be impeached.
Bookmakers with Paddy Power told us that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s decision to open an impeachment inquiry boosted the odds of action against Trump to even.
In June, the odds were 2-1 against.
"Trump's odds to be impeached shorted," said the site Gambling.com. "Trump has the same odds of not getting impeached. Back in June it was 2-1 that he would not be impeached," it added.
That was before the current Ukraine phone call affair.
On 2020, it added, gamblers are growing concerned about how the affair will impact the election.
"Trump is now under scrutiny again after news of a whistleblower complaint broke last week. He could certainly see his odds shift in a big way," said the site.
But, it added, gamblers believe Trump has the “best odds†at winning in 2020.
