The Kremlin has said it hopes that discussions between President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump will remain secret following the scandal that erupted over Trump’s phone call with Ukraine’s leader.

Transcripts from Trump and Putin’s face-to-face meetings have not been made public, with reports saying Trump has gone to “extraordinary lengths” to conceal them. During a July phone call, Trump asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to investigate Joe Biden, the U.S. president's likely opponent in the 2020 election — a request that has sparked a political firestorm in Washington this week.

This illustrates why the Dems challenged Trump to release the transcript. They knew doing so could damage Trump's ability to conduct foreign policy, and thought he wouldn't do it. From what I've read, Ukraine gave their OK, thus the release of the transcript, but are less than happy about it, for at least one obvious reason.

Agree.   Forcing a President to release the transcript of his private conversations with world leaders will potentially cripple our diplomacy,  and the precedent now set will reverberate with respect to future administrations.   Ideally, Trump should have resisted as he (as well as other Presidents before him both Republican and Democrat) have previously done to protect the office,  but the Dems and their lickspittle media placed him in a vise.

The lack of basic patriotism, not to mention common decency,  of the Democrat "resistance" never ceases to amaze.   There is a special level of hell reserved for these bastards.
