"Today, an employee of the shop approached me and said, 'Marilyn Synek! I didn’t recognize you until now, but I just realized who you are, what you stand for, and the work you do. You are f****** bigoted trash, and we do not want you in our restaurant. Over 80% of the people who work here are queer. You are not f****** wanted in our restaurant, so get out and don’t come back! If you do try to come back, we will all refuse any service to you.' The cafe was busy with other customers who watched the incident transpire," Synek wrote.

Cultiva owners Jason Anderson and Sharon Grossman posted a statement announcing that the barista had been fired for mistreating a customer. They admitted that there was an incident "wherein an employee lashed out at a customer over political/religious beliefs."

"The employee was fired almost immediately, and the rest of the day has been spent apologizing to the customer, a mention on national talk radio, fielding threatening phone calls and nasty emails, talking to the newspaper, receiving odd and sometimes clearly fake reviews on Facebook, a bit of soft doxxing on Twitter and the like. Ugliness has come from all corners of the political spectrum, interestingly enough," the owners wrote. 'Thankfully some people have made very nice comments and come to our defense as well. We appreciate you!"

"While we're proudly liberal personally, and believe in human rights and diversity to the fullest degree, let it be known that we would *never* condone treating a customer this way," Anderson and Grossman added. "We're running a business, and we try to instill professionalism in our staff, usually successfully."

This measured response was refreshing in these partisan times, but the fired employee, Natalie Weiss, attacked the coffee shop for abetting the status quo. She acted as if the job of a coffee shop is not to serve customers, but to push liberal political activism.

I don't think even a coffee shop in SF or West Hollywood would hire "Natalie Weiss". She obviously cannot be trusted to serve customers properly and professionally.

She could always go to work for Google, or Twitter, or Facebook. They would be glad to have her because that's exactly what they think. They could hire her for a 'content review' (censorship) job. She would fit right in.

But it is true that being a Liberal is not a guarantee that you will not be attacked by SJWs. Being Liberal is not a shield from them. SJWs attack Liberals all the time for not being "Liberal enough". If you are not foaming at the mouth, you are not doing it right.

O/T, my wife got me a combo K-cup and regular coffee maker for Christmas. I can't recall the last time I drank coffee outside of my house. I probably keep enough coffee in the house to last me for months...lol. My favorite places to buy coffee include Buc-ee's and our local Sprouts, which occasionally has BOGO deals. I also buy Mystic Monk from the local Catholic book store.

Think I'll brew another cup...

I buy it by the sack (25 lbs) whole bean, grind it just before brewing, and brew it up using distilled water in a $20 Black and Decker drip type coffee maker, which doesn't get so hot it pulls any bitter oils out of the beans.

I get "San Francisco Bay" brand whole bean in 3# bags from Costco, grind it in 2-4-day batches (refrigerated), and use a GP drip coffee maker.

My daughter in China buys unroasted beans, "roasts" them in a hot air popcorn popper, ...

We buy Dark Roast, Trader Joe's house brand, gound in a one pound (maybe 13 or16 oz)vacum sealed bag. $3.99 It is simply the best coffee and coffee value we have found. (They also have the beans, if you want to grind them yourself)

But simply the best was Diedrichs, now Kean:  small, local, authentic story known to locals for decades. Started small local, grew, and grew, sold several locations to Starbucks, went back to small local two shops plus roasting and wholesale online
