It's really not about the man but ideals, I've supported Reagan, Bush, Bush, Trump. All have been vilified, almost all presidential candidates even are vilified. I think eventually, some of what Bush 43 did, I disagreed with heavily. Now, we have the budget issue but that's about all. Leaders have to lead, lead for all Americans.
The horrible war in Iraq got about 20 times worse under Obama imo. to salvage that awful conflict alone is worth the vote if nothing else.
Now, let's go back to Bush 43, in ways, I'd say he became almost open-borders. That is totally diametrically opposed to what I'd want, no disappointments like that.
The left throws out "alt-right" and worse adjectives to describe the right. I can see how some neutrals could look at some accusations and wonder if they want to be associated with that, that does make some sense. Though, those kinds of people are minuscule in relations to total voters for the President.
The president may say some things and again, some cringe at that, this is understandable or say that he has had these multiple marriages, things like this. The president is not perfect certainly.
