I've seen him in Texas beat back the GOP establishment their candidate and a hostile Liberal media in the Austin...Houston...RGV area and win.

He's up tot he task...the problem in 2016 was Fox and other Conservative sites went all in on Trump and some of the BS he was spewing and did their version of an MSM hit job on Cruz.

He'd stand up to everything thrown at him and handle it with the wit and intelligence of Reagan.

I don't know.   I'm IN Texas and I never saw him really try hard at campaigning ... thus coming too close to almost losing to that idiot Beto.   Just judging by that performance, I have deemed that he's not really up to what it would take to campaign for president.  Would be nice, tho.  And I never bought into the BS Trump threw out about Cruz back then.

My current stance on Cruz is... as a campaigner, he's a good debater, but that's about it.

The media didn't want to cover him...the establishment wanted Dewhurst to win.

As for the last election.  Gringo almost won because the Dems are packing the deep red states with illegals and then getting them eligible to vote in the cities where they are taken in.

Right now 40% of all new voters in Tarrant County are Latino.

Progressives can't win on the issues at the ballot box...so they're doing what they always do...they cheat.  That's why Beto almost won.

I think Allen West becoming the GOP Chair for Texas will be jsut the kick in the ass they need to fight against the ballot box stuffing the Dems are trying to do.

I've always liked Allen West.   He strikes me as a "fighter".   And... he is somebody that the RL is, justifiably, afraid of.   So let's hope you are right re: that.

I beg to differ.  He is an excellent campaigner and has/had an excellent ground game; take a look at his initial Senate race.  ALL odds were against him and he succeeded with flying colors.

His book "Ted Cruz A Time  for Truth" is fascinating.

Truth be known, the RINO's and DEMS hate Cruz more than they do Trump.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
He's not "like me".   You always resort to labeling.   That's intellectual laziness.

What I am doing by paraphrasing Max Boot is to describe the mindset of many voters,  sick and tired of the reality show.   These are dangerous times,  because the conditions are being created for the Dems to exploit the public's weariness and install their pernicious radicalism.

Trump needs to be replaced as the nominee.
You don't think the Socialist "Can You Top This?" show the Dems are putting on isn't "reality" TV?
Really, it's more like UNreality, especially for someone who grew up in the height of the Cold War.

Raw, unbridled, Marxist proposals from the purveyors of hate politics, and promises of free sh*t?

There are plenty of historical examples of how that works out, but the people writing the textbooks are too busy talking about how the 57 genders have been put upon by straight white males throughout history.

Yes, I'm personally (I can't speak for anyone else) sick of the horse manure the Media are shoveling, the constant blather about how this ridiculous proposal or that ridiculous proposal will solve all the problems of humanity and save the planet, when it will only tighten the chains of slavery on the masses another notch. The discussion in the press has gone so far afield and is so agenda driven that it isn't in the same county with reality, much less the same street, and there is a significant fraction of dumbed down America who are getting their news from Facebook or some other 24K source that just don't know any better, and haven't actually been challenged enough to give the matter serious thought.

I'm not one who voted for Trump last time. How he treats the RKBA in the rest of this term will determine whether or not I ever do vote for him. But slap yourself in the face, wake up, and realize that the alternative (and I HATE this argument) is a step down the road to something that Hillary was just the lead scout for.

Unless you can find a candidate who is so overwhelmingly attractive to the Right, including everyone from Constitutionalists and Evangelicals to the Middle that they are virtually guaranteed every vote from the GOP and a host of 3rd Party as well, this is going to be an election where it is better to not change horses in mid stream.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

  • Dems-greatest existential threat to USA republic!
This thread is absurd.  Cruz is no Ronald Reagan.

Trump with all his warts is THE CANDIDATE for the Republican Party come 2020.  No one will best him in the GOP.  Get used to it.

And in the present Democommie clown car, there is not one that can defeat him, including the senile Biden.  The man doesn't know where he is day to day.  You don't think Trump would make him road kill?  Come on!

And fact is, Trump pegged Cruz exactly, Lying Ted.  That moniker will NEVER go away.  Even in 2024, should Cruz decide to run again, that moniker will haunt him.  There is something about the man that turns me off.   He has no charisma.  He may debate like a champion, but there is more to it than that to win POTUS!  Cruz will never get there.  2024 will be Pence or someone else.  And if Trump supports Pence in 2024, I think he has a lead he never loses.

This thread is absurd.

And yet here you are posting on it.

Quote
Cruz is no Ronald Reagan.

Noboy can be Reagan.  He's dead.  But Cruz comes 100% closer to embodying the spirit of Reagan and the Conservative principals and beliefs that Reagan did than anyone in the GOP in 2016 that ran.

Settle down Francis.  No one here is supporting calling for a primary challenger against Trump in 2020.

Again no one here is saying otherwise.  You're hyperventilating over nothing.

That's because [Personal insult redacted] like yourself continue to push that lie.

Yup.  The one that claims to be "conservative" and "Christian" while the whole rest of the Forum is not.  That one.

To become?   They're already there.   Remember, these are the same tyrants that rammed ObamaCare, the most punitive tax on middle class Americans ever, through Congress....via changing the rules (as usual)...and against the will of most Americans ....and without the support of even one member of the GOP.   They're the fascists.
