The media has been strangely silent after a 17-year-old was arrested for shooting nine people Friday at a football game in Mobile, Alabama.

Deangelo Parnell, 17, has been charged with nine counts of attempted murder after turning himself into police on Saturday morning, according to a spokesperson for the Mobile Police Department.

“This is a cowardly act by an individual who didn’t know how to deal with a situation,” said Mobile Police Chief Lawrence Battiste.

When I searched the phrase "football game shooting in Alabama" using Duck Duck Go, those were the first five results. The Alabama football game shooting is getting lots of national coverage in the MSM.

I don't know who that blogger is who was quoted in the OP of this thread, but (s)he is wrong. Any time you see the claim, "The Media is Ignoring ______," fact-check it if you care about it. It's almost always false clickbait.

They need the White-Nationalist-Mass-Shooter meme because they well know that any laws they pass will go directly after law abiding citizens to take their guns, which is what they really want.

The could care less about POC and illegal crime, because that is what they want.

It's a two prong strategy - flood America with illegals, disarm the Deplorables for a little demographic cleansing and electoral Rwanda.

And they are only too willing to make it up as they go along re: the stats in order to make their case for disarming the populace. 

For instance... check out the claim in this article that there has been 280 mass shootings in 2019.

25 shot — 7 fatally — so far in Chicago Labor Day weekend shootings

A 15-year-old boy shot Sunday in Austin is among the seven people killed so far.

At least 25 people have been shot — seven of them fatally — so far in gun violence across Chicago over the Labor Day holiday weekend.

The number of fatal shootings so far has already surpassed the total from last year’s Labor Day weekend, when four people were killed and 23 others were wounded in citywide shootings.

On Sunday, a 15-year-old boy was shot and killed in Austin on the West Side.

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert about 2:19 a.m. and found Dovantae Jackson in the 5100 block of West Washington Boulevard with gunshot wounds to the leg and back, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

He was pronounced dead on the scene, police said. He lived in the same block where he was shot.

Gun violence happens in this country every day. The media jumps on it when the perp is seemingly unprovoked and indiscriminate.

Gang violence or retaliatory violence doesn't get the same pub because the victims aren't seen as innocent in the sense that they know the shooter and maybe provoked it or just got caught at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Additionally, this did make national news, as the major websites all reported it.

It wasn't as publicized as others because there were no casualties. That is typical in coverage.

I reported it soon after it happened... when only the local Mobile stations were on it.
