Trump sends legal demand letter to MSNBC over host’s unvetted claim

President Donald Trump is demanding a retraction from MSNBC through his attorneys following comments from Lawrence O’Donnell that Trump says are completely false.

O’Donnell claimed on Tuesday that Trump had “Russian oligarchs” as co-signers on loans, a clear attempt to push the dead horse that is the Russia-Trump election collusion conspiracy theory.

“A source close to Deutsche Bank says Trump’s tax returns show he pays very little income tax and, more importantly, that his loans have Russian co-signers. If true, that explains every kind word Trump has ever said about Russia and Putin,” O’Donnell, who hosts MSNBC’s “The Last Word,” tweeted about the matter.

Don't know any of the people at MSNBC, never watch it.
Appears to me, O'Donnell is saved by saying, "If true,"

Yeah, the ol’ ...’If True’ propaganda ploy.

Present damaging information (the lie) as if it’s factual and then finish the report with, “if true, this could damage the president.” LOL

MSNBC's O'Donnell backs away from Trump-Russia report



MSNBC host Lawrence O'Donnell on Wednesday backed away from his previous night's reporting on alleged financial ties between President Trump and Russian oligarchs, saying he had made "an error in judgment" and that he had been wrong to report the story.

"Last night I made an error in judgment by reporting an item about the president’s finances that didn’t go through our rigorous verification and standards process," O'Donnell tweeted. "I shouldn’t have reported it and I was wrong to discuss it on the air. I will address the issue on my show tonight."

Nah, he knew what he was doing. Note how effortlessly he moved over to ploy #2 when ploy #1 becomes too hot to handle. It’s in the propagandist handbook and has a lot in common with modern advertising actually. It’s about how many positive, negative in this case, impressions you deliver. Then just move on.org
